Sulfameth Trimethoprim 800 160 Tabs Side Effects

I have been experiencing muscle pain in my scapula and hip while on this medication, is this a side effect or over exercising?

Side effects of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim can include; joint aches, unusual bruising or bleeding, severe tingling, numbness, and muscle pain or weakness. There are a lot more possible side effects associated with this medication, but those listed above are the only ones that I would consider to be linked to your muscle pain.

This medication caused me to get SCARRING ALOPECIA ALSO a TERRIBLE RASH UNDER MY BREASTS DUE TO PIGMENTARY ALTERATION. SUCKS!!!!!

Yes , ive reacted to this medicine with severe muscle pain and weakness to the arms and legs . I've been to the hospital just last night 10/2/2012 . I've stopped taking this horrible antibiotic !! I took 8 pills out of 14 . I'm still in a lot of pain . Jennifer , Fl.

I just took the last pill today and since I've been on these antibiotics, they had me feeling horrible. My muscles were extremely sore and weak. Ive found two small bruises on my leg as well. This was supposed to be treating my sinus infection. Even though Im done taking the pills, Should I still contact the doctor about the bruises

i stopped taking this medicine because it made me feel very week and nautious. i also experienced severe lower back and hip pain. i just restarted the antibiotic again to give it another chance because of a bladder infection. i thought something was wrong with me and the reactions i was having but i can see i'm not the only one. thank you so much

This medicine caused me to have numbness and pain. In my leg's that was so bad I could barely walk. I ended up in the ER yesterday 9/19/13 I will not be taking anymore. Im so glad I found this site. The Dr.'s were clueless about what was wrong with me.

I took sulfameth/trimethoprim 88/600 tabs for a boil . the meds sent me to the e/r vomiting, dizziness , shills , fever , the most severed headache and muscle pain .I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Yes!! I'm going through the same reaction of this medication, as I write this statement! I'm taking this medication due to a boil. I take it the first time this pass Saturday and never will I take it again! Since then, I've been having the following vomiting, chills (hot &cold) stomach pains, neck & back pains, & most of all massive headache!! This medication is the absolute worst!!! Trash!!

I thought I was crazy!! This medication is causing the weirdest sensation around my rear end! It feels like burning and bruisng feeling, as if I went on a very long bike ride with a skinny,hard seat!!! It's actually quite painfull! I am taking for bladder infection. Really bad stuff! I keep looking for bruising but see nothing. Burns like heck! Not taking this again!! Still have 6 pills left

I started this antibiotic Wednesday night and woke last night (Thursday night) itching to the point of sleeplessness. In addition to the itching, I just feel miserable - achy, weak muscles, tired and nauseated. At this point I'm not sure if I will be able to continue taking it.

I have been on this drug for two weeks. Symptoms have been awful. I thought I had the flu because of he horrific muscle pain. Other symptoms include constant stomach pain and digestive distress. Today I spent most of the day in bed...just felt sick. Also fatigue is off the charts. Don't plan to take any more.

Ive been taking this med for almost two weeks now for a bad uti and should be finished by Friday. I haven't had any muscle soreness, but the weakness is there; I also started getting nauseous, swollen glands in my neck up to behind my ears, near my groin, and the muscles in my eyes hurt. I also seem to have two bumps/lumps on the back of my head that really hurt, especially if too much pressure is put on them. Are any of these occurrences side effect? If they are and they'll just go away once im done with the meds, I guess I can muddle through the last couple doses.

I was given this medication for shingles and diverticulitis didn't have and reactions the first 10 days. My diverticulitis flared up again because I ate foods I wasn't suppose to so they put me back on it again. This is day 2 and I broke out in a rash underneath my breasts and on my left side. So I stopped taking it as of today.

Sunday, my husband had an infected hair on his cheek so he went to acute care. The doctor prescribed him Bactrim - which is the same as the generic drug that is talked about here - Monday after work, my husband said he felt horrible. He had the chills, fever, profuse sweating, and nausea. He stayed home from work on Tuesday. Still not feeling good on Wednesday so he went to his family practice physician. We explained to the doctor that he was on Bactrim from a skin infection but he didn't think anything of it. He sent us home saying that he may have the flu. They did a flu evaluation but it came back negative. The doctor then said, it must be a virus and it will run it's course. We left. Because the doctor just said it was a virus, my husband went to work on Thursday and struggled to get through the day. (prior to this incident, my husband had used 1 day of sick time in 24 years of work) When he got home on Thursday, he felt miserable. He called the doctor and scheduled an appointment for the next morning. We went to the doctor on Friday a.m. with even worse symptoms than Wednesday. He had been taking the Bactrim as prescribed since Sunday night. Friday, the doctor checked for hepatitis, influenza again, mono, and a ton of other things. He did perform one diagnostic that would take the weekend to get the results for. We left again, went home and waited. By Friday at 5:00 p.m. my husband was in so much pain with ache muscles, he had a high temperature, he had the chills, he was sweating profusely. We took him to the ER. They admitted him to the hospital after running a few evaluations and realizing that his liver was not working correctly. They had no idea why his liver was not working. After several doctors put their heads together, they realized that Bactrim and it's generics can cause liver tissue necrosis. That means that it attacks your liver and kills liver tissue. My husband has been in the hospital 5 days and his liver is still not functioning correctly. THIS DRUG IS GOING TO KILL MANY PEOPLE IF SOMEONE DOESN'T DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. My husband had only taken 4 1/2 days worth of his 10 day prescription. Can you imagine what situation we would be in if he had taken the whole 10 days worth? He more than likely wouldn't be here. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DRUG.

after using this medication for almost 10 days I've had symtoms of nausea, skin rashes especially in my mouth. My gums turned very red and my lips are tingly. I'm afraid to take the last 2 pills. My tongue has this strange feeling and sort of bitter taste. I am dry as a bone.
