Sulfameth Trimeth Susp Side Effects

My son is 12 months old and was prescribed Sulfameth Trimeth 5ml twice daily. Can this keep him awake? He's been having stomach cramps which I have been treating with greek yogurt to add back the good bacteria. However, he seems wide awake when he should be exhausted and ready for sleep. I'm wondering if a side effect of this medication could be sleeplessness.

Yes, it certainly can be a side effect of this medication. As a sulfa based antibiotic, it can cause lots of crazy problems and side effects and I actually never recommend it to anyone, unless they've run out of other options.
