Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is an antibiotic. That said, as long as you do not heat the liquid and make sure that you still put in the full dose, then it will not affect the efficacy.
It may cause side effects such as: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea.
