Sulfameth Tmp Ds Side Effect

I started taking sulfameth yessterday for a staph infection and I take one a day. Is diarrhea a pretty common side effect? I was having some stomach cramps as well.

Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim, commonly prescribed in the U.S. under the brand name Bactrim, is an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent various types of infections.

And yes, diarrhea and some accompanying stomach cramping can be normal side effects, along with nausea and non-allergic skin rash.
