Therefore, with an implanted IUD, this risk is eliminated, so the antibiotic will not lower the efficacy of the IUD and increase your risk of pregnancy. You will still be protected.

Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim may cause some side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, skin rash and diarrhea.
