Suggestions For Improving Medication Adherence

Low adherence to our medication regimens as a result of forgetfulness is an issue that most of us are dealing with. I have found many different solutions to it. However, I want to know what has been the most effective adherence solution for you and what is your suggestion?

I struggle to stay motivated about taking my pills. What keeps you motivated to take your medications and stay healthy?

For my husband and I, it was installing reminder applications on our smartphones. There are many free ones that will nag you, until you acknowledge that you've taken your medications. I can assure you that they work well, because there are times my husband has forgotten to tap to let it know he took his medications, then he's left for work and forgotten his phone at home!!! .... and the dang thing goes off every few minutes!!!!

I am sure most will understand how badly I've wished I could throttle him, at such moments. LOL Not that I ever would, he's an amazing man, but when he he is working a day shift, and leaves around 7am..... I've an idea that you get it.

Thus, I can assure you that the apps are very effective!

We take our medications at the same time, so when one of our reminders sound off, it also tells the other to take their medications.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?
