Suggested Testing Procedure For Long Term Exposure To Pharmaceutical Drugs
UpdatedI am seeking to understand if there are any blood, urine or hair tests that could be used as markers to predict long-term abuse of pharmaceutical drugs such as painkillers, steroids or any other substances? I ask this question because in some countries all drugs can be obtained over the counter without a prescription and are misused. If no pathological tests can be really useful, what other suggestions could be made? For example, liver enzyme tests, etc.
Lastly, if it is desired to test for exposure to pharmaceutical drugs in humans or animals, is it only possible to detect by using separate tests e.g tests for steroids, tricyclic antidepressants, oxycodone, methadone etc. Are there any tests based on inactive ingredients?
