Some manufactured use sugars or a sweetener in some medications.
What are the markings on it? That would enable me to check the specific ingredients for you.
However, you also should not be tasting your pill. If you're tasting it, then you're not taking it properly. The pill should be placed as far back on your tongue, as possible, short of choking on it and then immediately swallowed with water.
