Sucralfate Suspension

my mother takes Sucralfate suspension, she is unable to swollow it in tablet form due to an oesophogeal stricture, is there another similar preparation?

Well, if she has been prescribed a suspension, that should be a liquid formulation. If her pharmacy has given her a tablet, then they have given her the wrong thing.

How was the prescription written?

Is her doctor aware of her swallowing difficulties?

Is SucralFate derived from Sucralose? Does it have the components of Sucralose? I had a severe allergic reaction to it and it seems, now, I have hives if I get a tiny bit of sucralose in my system since I had the allergic reaction to Sucralfate. Is there any relation to it? Is it made of sucralose?

I TOOK SUCRALFATE AND AM ALLEGIC TO IT CANNOT NOT TAKE IT. WHAT CAN I DO T.O SPEED UP MY HEALING? NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW..i GUESS JUST LET MY ULCER HEAL NATURALLY.HELP !

starlight what kind of reaction did you have? I take protonix 2 times a day to help with the acid, .but when my ulcers flare up, usually because ive take too much aspirin or motrin, , or alcohol or I got off my diet. I have an esophageal stricture as well as 2 ulcers, I really have to watch my diet, no caffeine, no carbonated drinks nothing to spicey, nothing with tomato sauce and the list goes on.
when I need the sucralfate I dissolve the tabs in water because I cant swallow them. you can try Maalox or Mylanta, these are good for coating your stomach and good over the counter options. hope this helps
