Subutex To Methadone

I go to the clinic and get methadone but missed a day, so i took a half a subutex. Within 15 min it sent me into immediate withdrawal. How long should i wait to take my methadone again? Is it going to send me into worse withdrawal?

I live In Minneapolis Minnesota and state provide Blue Cross (Blue Plus) and need a Dr who will provide me white Subutex. Thank you

2-3 days? You must not understand Methadone's half life. I just recently detoxed to switch to Suboxone. It took a month (give or take a couple days) for my body to not have an adverse reaction. Also, it took a month before I quit testing positive at the Suboxone doctor. I'm aware that everyone is different, but 2-3 days isn't even enough time to really even start withdrawing.

I used to take Subutex a few hours before opiates. It never put me in precipitatied WD. The thing is Subutex has never put me in a bad state of health/mind.... I take Xanax too..... But I've taken oxycodone 80's an hour after a quarter Subutex and it blew me away. You won't go into withdrawal no matter what. YOU ARE NOT WRONG. I used to take Subutex and then take Norco and it would make me feel great. Better to take em without subs but they still work.

I wanted to know if I take subutex without the naloxone, can I take methadone? I've only taken 4 mgs a day for two days and am wanting to go to the methadone clinic! I'm out of my pain meds and this is not working!!! Anyone?

I went to a treatment center today and they gave me 8mg subutex for w/d relief from opiate abuse. An hour later I'm in the emergency room shaking, sweating, cold (80 degrees outside) and my legs hurting. Will this happen every time I take it? Should I switch to methadone?

DONES101: And what you said about Subuxone/Subutex/Naloxone is MOSTLY true, but since Naloxone is an opioid antagonist (blocker), as is Bupe, yes it can throw you into withdrawal. But not from taking it sublingually. Naloxone is less than 5% percent bioavailable when taken sublingually, but 100% bioavailable when administered intravenously. So if you inj. it, it will indeed put you into withdrawal. Naloxone is what is used in emergency rooms and by paramedics when someone overdoses on opioids. But it's not the thing that causes withdrawal when taken under the tongue; that would be the Bupe itself.

You can take methadone on top of subutex, just never take subs on methadone.

You are totally wrong. Subutex works just like naloxone, well it displaces all the methadone in the mu receptors with bubenorphin which is a weaker opiate. So thats what causes withdrawals. I know from experience and research. OPEN A BOOK OR GOOGLE IT. YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING HERE.

DONES101: I hear ya. Those precips are NASTY stuff. People mistakenly think that if it's just Subutex, without the Naloxone, then you can mix the two. Not so. It is the BUPE ITSELF that is the problem. The Naloxone is only in there to keep people from administering it intravenously, and is hardly even bioavailable if taken sublingually. Once you go through those precips, you will do ANYTHING to never have them again. I had no idea what real withdrawal even was! That methadone takes so long to get out of your system, the doctors don't even want to mess with you as far as Bupe unless you are down to 30 mgs or below, and have been off the methadone for at least 72 hours.

That is BULLS***. You're not going into withdrawal from the naloxone, its only a blocker, it doesn't cause wd! But if you're on methadone for an extended amount of ANY TIME, don't ever take suboxone or subutex!!!! The buprenorphine in it will immediately send you into withdrawal!!! I was on methadone for yrs, and I didn't have my dose for 3 days so I took a HALF a pill of 8mg subutex and within 3 mins I was in rapid, full, terrible withdrawal. Ended up going to the hospital where they actuality gave me a dose close to methadone that had little to no affect. I was vomiting, having such crazy withdrawals, I would've rather died! It went on severe for about 6-8 hrs that my body and mind finally gave out and I was able to fall asleep by the grace of God. Anyway, terrible experience that ill never forget and NEVER try again. So no, methadone has a half life and if you've been on it a while don't ever take subs unless its been i say about 4-6 days.... Gotta be feeling pretty bad before its safe...

MADGUNNER: So are you TRYING to go into Precipitated withdrawals? I mean, what are you trying to prove here? Because you are playing a very dangerous game. Go into Precips once, you will certainly never want to do it again. And sorry, but these are just facts. The Bupe throwing someone into WDs if they use it too soon after full-agonist opioids? That's what it is SUPPOSED to do. Now, maybe since your dosages of the methadone and the Bupe were fairly low, you were safe. Or maybe you are just lying. I don't know. But I DO KNOW that I just worked with someone who was on 75 mgs of methadone, hadn't used the methadone for DAYS; and had only used H the last few days. This person took 12 mgs of bupe days after the methadone and about 18 hours after the H, and went into HORRIBLE Precips. I mean, seeing the devil, screaming, crying, just a complete nightmare. So if you want to go THERE, keep messing with Bupe and opioids together. You will wish you hadn't.

I took subutex after H and methadone. I was on 50mg for 5 days while taking H the whole time. Then the same day after my dose I took an 8mg subutex. I didn't feel euphoric but i damn sure didn't go into wds. I am also a 16yr vet so my tolerance is pretty high..i would just say from all this, mixing anything is a pretty risky business.

I haven't had anything to say to Verwon in ages. And I have a problem with people who come on forums like this and dispense bad advice and misinformation. This isn't Youtube. This isn't some forum about meaningless kitten videos. This is about medication, and therefore has the potential to be about LIFE AND DEATH. So when someone has nothing but misinformation to dispense, over and over and over again, yes I take it very seriously. So sorry, but this isn't the place to be "making mistakes". If someone doesn't know 100%, for sure, no doubt, that their info is solid, they should stay off of here. These are serious issues. I really don't care what YOU think about it. Just being real.

JEN: This person is sitting here, point blank, telling us that he is in withdrawal, and the REASON he is in withdrawal is because he took Subutex too soon after Methadone. Point blank, straight up, took the Subs too soon. And then some "expert", who has NO CLUE as to what he/she is talking about, comes along with nothing but wrong information and tells him why he SHOULDN'T be in withdrawal. Don't you just love it?

LAURACHELL: Yes, it is. You are wrong. There's not much more to say than that. Subutex (Buprenorphine HCL) is indeed a partial opioid antagonist, which means, in your simple terms, that is IS a "block". The drug ITSELF is the "block". The Naloxone (the thing that you are mistakenly thinking is doing the "blocking") is only in there to keep it from being used intravenously, and has low bioavailability when taken sublingually. So, in laymen's terms, you are wrong and are dispensing bad advice.

JAYLEE: There really isn't anything that is going to help except time. I mean, there are things you can take to ease withdrawal, but you aren't going to stop the withdrawals until the Subs and the Methadone are out of your system. Are you going from Methadone to Suboxone? I mean, do you have more Subs?
