Substitute For Perphenazine?

My wife ran out of this pill. She was taking two at bed time. Now she is having bad dreams and says her body hurts all over. She had neither problem while taking them. The doctor told us they do not make this pill anymore. Is there substitute for it? Thank You

Perphen/Amit contains the active ingredients Perphenazine and Amitriptyline, it is used to treat various mental health disorders.

Such withdrawal effects can be normal, if someone stops taking this medication suddenly, but they should wear off in a few weeks, as her body readjusts to not having the medication.

As to a substitute, I am not sure, since I don't know where you are located. Has her doctor or pharmacist suggested an alternative?

I still get this prescription from cvs..mail in and at the drug store..the prescription name is Triavil 410, which is the one I take, the generic name is perphen/amit tablet 4-10 mg..the manufacturer is Mylan.

I have taken 20 mg. daily of amitriptyline and 8 mg. Perphenazine daily for stomach upset for several months. My stomach quit bothering me so I quit taking them. Since then I have had horrible headaches and panic attacks, really bad ones, that Xanax doesn't help. I just found out today that these meds could be the cause. I will have to taper off slowly and hope that works. I resent not being told that this could happen.
