i have had back surgery. and just had 4 by- passes done and ran out of meds. they said that it was not normal to still be hurting in my chest from my scar.
Yes, narcotics do sometimes cause that in some people and it can even be severe enough that it causes some people to abuse them, because they like that effect.
By now, I hope you've already found another medication to use, Angela.
If anyone else is seeking similar information, you really should just talk to your doctor about the problem. There are other medications you can try, but you may go through several, before finding one that works for you, without causing this problem.
Are there any questions or comments?
Back in the day, pain medications to use make everyone sleepy and drowsy. They have changed the chemical compounds and this why they make everyone hyper. Who the hell wants to be hyper when they are in pain? This only exacerbates the pain.
wow, so glad I came across this! I was on hydrocodone for the last seven years for multiple back injuries and 3 weeks ago and Sunday 2/3/17 I decided to cold turkey quit opiates and I am so glad! The downfall is I have been using Tramadol 50mg/4 a day to help with the breakthrough pain I will probably always have, but the compound has most definitely changed over the years. I was always tired 5-7 years ago when taking hyrdocodone but the last few years I was up to 120mg a day and the enegy it gave me made me need more and more, it wasn't the pain relief I as receiving but I was receiving a huge boost of confidence and I needed more to "cope" with the pain all the while being so much more productive. I have tried everything under the sun for pain management except fentanyl. what made me say enough is enough was the Dr giving me 60mg morphine er, which I still have 120 of and I keep to show myself I beat an addiction and still suffer but I don't need you anymore! Best of luck to all!
I have a strange reaction to Lortab. It will keep me up. I have a very hard time falling asleep when I have taken this drug. One doctor suggested to me it was because of my ADD. Is there another drug that I can ask for would work like Lortab that hopefully wouldn't keep me awake. This is a very frustrating problem for me.
