Suboxone/Subutex should be used one way and one way only. Start with the professionally recommended dose; (usually according to one's opiate intake) and ween off of it in 5-14 days. Any longer than that and it becomes a crutch, simply trading one demon for another. I know people that have been on it for 3yrs, and when it came time to stop...HELL. I took it for a year. Mistake. I suffered worse withdrawals from that then any other before. I relapsed. Relapsed with a plan of pure Will. I used vicodin for two weeks, weened myself off and suffered much, much less. Suboxone is powerful s***, not to mention expensive. I am a member of Pills Anonymous; therefore, I am speaking not only from my own experience, but dozens of others. Trust me; save yourself. Aloha ## Thank you for your post. ...

Have had major chronic pain for several years now, was on oxy for about 3 years, then Dilaudid and Methadone when the Oxy no longer helped. Got so addicted had to go to treatment to get off the stuff. Have been in recovery since Feb 2009, but dr wants me to start taking the 2 mg tabs twice a day starting tomorrow for the pain. Have been reading through the info and comments and am kind of freaked out. Is this truly a good chronic pain medication? I am not going thru any type of wd at this point, the one in treatment was almost more than I could bear and I don't know that I could make it through that again. ## Suboxone contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, an opiate and an opiate agonist. I do understand where you are coming from, I quit very high doses of narco...

I s suboxone really going to be availalbe in generic? I heard thaat the company's patent runs out in October. Has anyone learned of a cheaper way to pay for it ? ## I never heard of such a thing it coming in generic form i dont even think that is possible where you hear that ## Suboxone, which contains the opiate Buprenorphine and the agonist Naloxone is commonly used to treat drug addiction and severe, chronic pain. That said, NO, this drug was just approved and placed on the market in 2002, in the US, a proprietary drug patent lasts for 10 years, plus they can get several extensions, so this one has several years to go yet, before any generics will be able to come on to the market. Even then, since this medication is VERY highly regulated, it is likely that it could result in some...

explanation on how to get out of addiction ## Have you considered looking into treatment with Suboxone? It is an opiate containing the active ingredient Buprenorphine and had helped many people break away from drug addiction and become completely drug free. To see if there is a doctor who provides treatment with it in your area you can visit: Suboxone.com Click Here And you can read more about this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Can you switch from Methadone to Buprenorphine

saboxil ## I am trying to find information about the use of saboxil (a.k.a. seboxyl) for treatment of chronic pain when opiods have created a tolerance problem. ## I believe the medication you may be referring to is Suboxone, which contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine. It is used to treat severe pain and drug addiction. It is a very powerful opiate and is only used to treat pain, when all other options have been exhausted. It carries some of the same side effects as other narcotics, including: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You can read more about it here: Was there anything else I could help you with?

Cimboxin used for herion addiction ## I believe the drug you are referring to is Suboxone, which contains the active ingredient Buprenoprhine. This is an opiate used to treat many different types of drug addiction. Anyone with more information, please post! ## Is cimboxin too strong for someone that is trying to stop taking percocet? Think it's mostly for heroin, don't want to see him taking something he shouldn't or that's even worse than the first pill.

I've been taking one of these drugs now for 3 years and it is a miracle. I was on 15 100 microgram Fentanyl patches for 5 years for chronic back pain -- the drug ruled and ruined my life (marriage, relationships with children and friends, and job). It changed my personality, made me angry, nasty, aggressive, or incoherent. The ups and downs were crazy in terms of the drug effect. This makes little sense as the drug transmits the medication through your skin, slowly, and SHOULD last for 3 days. Normally, 10 patches should have been enough (for a 30-day period), but the 3rd day I felt sick -- not enough drug left in the patch. That's why I need 15 patches for the month, instead of 10. Anyway, I was taking 3 8mg Subs per day and it worked great. According to the doctor, anything ab...

I apologize to anyone who is annoyed with my repetitive posting. I am very serious about starting Suboxone and staying sober (no booze and/or drugs). It is hard to gauge how many people read these posts. I am looking for advice and specifics on the experience of starting suboxone. I made a mistake my first try, had a tough time and honestly, I am scared to try again. If it I don't do it right the second time I fear that I might start to lose faith in the treatment. Those who have time please read the previous post, Advice starting Suboxone, ?s. Please read the replies. Cocopuffs thanks! I am researching this treatment. I am under the supervision of a primary care physician, a psychologist, and a psychiatrist who prescribed this drug. They all know the truth about me and my situation...

I have had great experiences with this medication. Suboxone is not only used to treat narcotic addiction--there are other reasons. It is so new, many doctors dont understand the full potentional of this medication. Addiction is currently what the FDA has approved it for. In my own personal situation, I was on high doses of oxycodone for several years due to severe chronic pain. It was so bad that i had to stop working for the last year--ps i am only 28. I truly believe there is a difference between narcotic addiction and narcotic dependence. My body was very used to the narcotic, as it would be with taking high doses of any medication. I was not addicted to the meds. I was not emotionally seeking the high, but desperately seeking some sort of pain relief. I finally found a new pain doct...

My Doctor put me on 5 8mg pills a day. Just wondering what everybody is taking. Thanks ## You should follow your doctor's instructions, rather than go by what other people are taking. Suboxone is usually started at a certain amount, depending on the addiction being treated, what drugs were involved and how much, then the amount is adjusted once you see how well it is helping. ## I'm not trying to take more. I was just wondering what other people were prescribed and to see if I had a normal dosage. Just wondering? ## I take one 8 mg sub every 12 hours. two a day.

This past August I began suboxone treatments. Unfortantly I havent been taking them faithfully as prescribed. Ive been taking my drug of choice which is an opiate and the Suboxone just lay in the bottle at the bottom of my purse. With all that being said, I am currently looking for employment and am worried about having to take a drug test. I dont use anything but the opiate. My question is, if I take a drug test and it shows opiates in my system, can i show them my suboxone prescription and be ok?? Any advise is greatly appreciated. ## Suboxone IS an opiate, not sure where you got that information, but it is incorrect! Suboxone also contains an opiate agonist that counteracts the effects of other narcotics. If you have been taking other drugs, rather than the Suboxone, then YES, your t...
