Hello, I have just one question so here goes! I have been on a pain management program with suboxone for almost three years now due to chronic pain. I do not have a prior drug addiction problem. I say this due to many people think you have to have a prior opioid problem. That's just my question tho. My recent ex broke up with me because he said the only way you can be prescribed suboxone for pain management is if you had a prior drug abuse problem. I told him that was not true by no means but he argues an says he's right. Can anyone please back me up and explain to him in the comments that he is wrong to a certain extent. I would really appreciate it. Thank you and god bless! ## Hello, Lyn! How are you? You are correct and your ex is not. Suboxone contains the opiate Buprenorphi...

Hi guys I'm Alan and ive had a bad pain pill problem for a while. I just called a Dr about the suboxone program but he wants 140 for first visit and 70 bucks every 2 weeks after(mandatory visit every 2 weeks) plus 150 every two weeks for prescription and 15 for drug test. Can anybody help me with a cheaper Dr that only requires once a month for visits near Flint mi or Madison heights mi? Thanks for any help ## Hey alan, Sorry, don,t know anyone in your state. You can search suboxone doctors in your area and call around. The price your paying for dr. visit without insurance would be average to a little low compared to my area. Subs are still high with some insurance plans and very expensive without insurance. Search suboxone coupons, theres some you can use with insurance and some fo...

I've been on suboxone for 2 years now. I was addicted to pain pills. I've had withdraws from the pills and withdrawals from the suboxone, and the suboxone is 10 times worse. I don't know who discovered this drug but they should be shot. If I would've known suboxone was this bad I would've tried to quit cold turkey. They even have me on a higher dose than i took with the pills. But now I'm stuck!!! At least my Dr that I have to pay every month is happy. My advise is whatever you do don't go with suboxone. There's bound to be something better out there. ## Hello, Whisper! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you've had. However, Suboxone does work well for many people, because though it takes awhile and must be very slowly tapered, it has ...

The last time I took Suboxone was at 6:30 7:00 last night Wednesday. Don't know if I am better off just saying I was taking the Vicodin for Migraines which was the case or admiting to the dependency, just don't want any reason for them to keep testing me or cause anymore issues. ## Don't need to worry about the drug test, it will be negative unless the...

How can I stay on suboxone when the doctor wants to take me off? ## Don,t know if it would work but you could tell him you still have urges to use and you don,t think your ready yet. Why do you want to stay on it? ## Hi Bill Brasksi! As Jolter said,"u can tell the Dr that u r still having cravings 2 use." I've been on suboxone 4 almost 8 years, and, I don't plan on getting off it anytime soon. My reason is I feel that I will b back on pain pills, again. (Due. 2 the pain I suffer) I'm just not ready, yet, and, I don't trust myself. ## @Bill, Does your doctor want you off Suboxone indefinitely or is he just trying to get you to taper down from what you've already been taking? In either case, I think it would be a good idea to ask your doctor his reasoning for w...

I keep coming up positive for etg and definitely have not been drinking any alcohol. The only thing different is I have been taking prescription vitamin D. Can this throw the false positive? ## I recently took a drug swab and it show false positive for alcohol. And show negative for my Suboxone. There is no way, I don't drink for one thing and I take my Suboxone every day. I take over the counter mucus DM, and a multi-vitamin. Can somebody please tell me if the over the counter meds for mucus DM could have maid my text show positive for alcohol?

I've been taking Tramadol for 14 years and I messed up my dosage by a few days so I thought I was going to be out of Tramadol for this weekend, so I was given 2 suboxone 8mg strips and was told it would help. Well, I was wrong and I just miscounted my pills. I found them but I already took the 2 strips. I want to take my Tramadol but I am scared that I'm going to get sicker than I already am right now. I never should've taken that darn suboxone, but I've never taken it before today so I'm hoping it'll be out of my system faster! Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?? Thank you in advance!! :/ ## Hello, Sickone! How are you? Yes, I'm sorry, but whoever told you that the Suboxone would help was misinformed. One of its active ingredients is Naloxone, which neut...

my wife is afraid to take suboxone she says it will throw her into major withdrawl. i was wondering how long do you have to wait after taking methadone or morphine to take suboxone ## I was addicted to narcotics and I two was scared to death to take suboxone b/c of all the story's i heard about going into worse withdrawl, but about 3 weeks ago i couldn't take the 'diease' anymore and decided to finally give suboxone a try. I waited about 30 hrs from when i last used and i felt better the next day and havent touch opiates since, in fact I don't even crave it. My doctor gave me the 8 mg. pills and told me to take one and if I didn't feel better to take another half a few hours later and so on untill I felt normal. It took me about 3 pills over a 20 hour period, but...

I want to get off opiates and need her help to get help with my withdrawal symptoms!!! ## It's not legal for her to do that, unless she's undergone the special training and has the waiver to treat patients for addiction. Learn more Suboxone details here. What you have to do, according to law, is see a doctor that's been specially trained to use it to treat addiction. Have you checked for doctors in your area at suboxone.com? ## Don't assume her psychiatrist is illegally giving suboxone. She is most likely certified to do so and has gone through the training.

Can I take my tabs safely 24 hours after taking only a quarter of a suboxone to keep from being sick yesterday ?? ## Hello, Randy! How are you? What medication are you asking about? If it's another narcotic, you'll need to give it about 3 days, before taking it, or the Suboxone will prevent it from having any effect. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What instructions have you received from your doctor?

I took 1 8mg subox strip 1:30p yesterday. Ihas been 19 hours. Can i take my reg prescription 10mg perc now? ## Hello, Mike! How are you? No, the Suboxone will prevent it from having any effect and you'd just be wasting the medication. It is best to follow your doctor's instructions which is generally to wait 72 hours, before going back onto your other opiate. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was son 20-30 mg. methadone for a yr. Trying to switch to Suboxone.Stupidly went to treament center that will not give subutex. I have not taken Methadone for 48 hrs, miserable, but scared to take any suboxone. Might try 1 mg. Thoughts? OH, my Dr was worthless, need to findnew on in Dayton Ohio area. ## Are you worried about the two drugs counteracting with each other? What's the concern about trying a 1mg of suboxone? ## 52 hrs -took 1/2 mg. suboxone, did great, going to take 1/2 more and see how I do. ## I am scared of getting thrown into worse withdraw. ## Scared of getting horrible withdraw from the Nalaxone. ## K guys, praise God doing ok so far. NOT thrown into precipitated withdraw! Taken 1 mg. going for 2 mg within the hr. Maybe this will help the next guy flipping to subo...

I've been on subs for 8 months at 8mg / per day.. i couldn't make it to my doc and suffer from bad back pain so I've been two days 48 hrs with no suboxone and got alot of pain i took 1 perc 5 now at 10:10pm & get my suboxone tomorrow at 12:00 is this a safe time frame foe me to start my suboxine tomorrow . Thank you! ## Hi Ginger, Despite your circumstances I do think it was wise of you to wait the 48 hours in between the Suboxone and Percocet. Now going in reverse from Percocet to Suboxone, some of the feedback I'm seeing on other related threads here suggests waiting at least 24 hours or until you are in full withdrawal (from all other opiates) before taking Suboxone, in order to avoid precipitated withdrawals. Though I think the time frame may vary somewhat for ea...

How does Clonidine help with withdrawals from Sub? Does it work well? Do all your w/d symptoms go away or just certain ones like RLS? Thanks! ## It can help, but just with certain symptoms, such as anxiety, RLS and insomnia. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness and dry mouth, as listed by the FDA. Has your doctor prescribed it for you? ## Vernon, yes I got it today and just took one 0.1.

I've been on 12mg/day sub for 6 plus years and hate this demon drug. My life is a mess and I desperately want to get off this slow ugly spiral. Anyway here is my situation: my doctor retires in December and i don't want to find another one, so is it possible to taper off 12mg to 0 successfully between now and then? I haven't asked to taper before now out of fear. Before I went back to 12mg 6yrs ago I tried a slow taper and it failed. I think I'm ready now, I hate this drug with a passion. Is it possible?? ## Yes, it is possible, whether or not it will work for you, however, is a different matter entirely. Some people are able to stop such a medication cold turkey, or via a very rapid taper, with no major problems, it really depends on the person. Have you spoken to your ...

Hi, I have been on suboxone for almost a year now the past month and a half I have taper down to 1mg I took yesterday and today I ony took .50mg, tomorrow and Sunday I was just gonna go ahead and withdrawal, which will put me at 48hrs with no Suboxone in my system. I am have very bad pain issues going on in my back, and was hoping I could take my medicine to aleivate the pain on Monday. But am worried I will go into withdrawals, do y'all think 48hrs is long enough before I take my oxys I am prescribed? ## Everyone's body is different. Me personally I would wait the 72 hours. Because the naloxone in the sub will interact with the oxy and you LL be very sick. So hang in there a few more hours!! ## Post #1 is right about each individual being different when it comes to determining ...

I went to the pharmacy and intended to fill 60 count of suboxone, but they only had 34 to fill at the time and told me that i could get the remainder in 17 days which I thought was weird first off. Then next question was I was charged 50 bucks the first time then charged again when I went to fill the rest of my prescription! Which was only 13 days from the original 17 days they told me! So why was I charged twice for the same script? Ams why was I told to wait 17 days to pick up the remainder of my script? ## As to why you had to wait to get the rest, they most likely ran out. Every pharmacy has a limit on how much they can order and stock of any given controlled substance per month. Once they run out, they are forced to wait, until their new ordering period to order more and these date...

So, I have been in a suboxone treatment program. I have been tapering down and am about to stop. I should have a very important test for employment and I am clean otherwise. The job requires using heavy machinery. I plan on stopping now and my test is in about two weeks. I'm afraid if it shows up they can deny my the job because of its possible side effects. My uncle is getting me the job, I don't want to embarrass him and get denied because of this. How long until I'm okay? And can they deny me even if I have stopped use and the medication is prescribed? I've been losing sleep over this.
