Strongest 30 Mg Oxycodone - Kvk Vs Mallinckrodt Vs Rhodes (Page 7)

Hi All,
I experience pretty severe neuropathic pain due to a spinal injury. I have a Baclofen pump which also contains hydromorphone but still get a lot of breakthrough pain. I've been taking oxycodone for 8ish yrs. and the pills I was prescribed those first few yrs. did a good job at treating the pain. I've had to change pharmacies and notice lately the oxycodone 30s I've been given lately do little or NOTHING! Especially the Mallinckrodt!
My doc prescribed 3 30mg pills a day but I had to munch 5 of the Mallinckrodts in a 4 hour period and still got barely any relief. I was worried I'd get constipated big time after taking that many pills several days in a row but I didn't (because they're so damn weak!) I don't know the mfg. of the oxys I was taking yrs ago but it may have been Actavis or KVK Tech. (although KVKs I was prescribed last mo. weren't much better than the Mallinckrodt).
My question is what brand do y'all think is the strongest 30mg oxycodone? My pharmacy has the KVK but I talked to another that carries Rhodes, are those any better? Thanks for any info!
The Rhodes oxycodone is AWFUL!!
I am not sure of the manufacturer of the small lighr bluish green pills that worked so well before my pharmacy switched to Rhodes
I filed a complaint with the FDA about Rhodes. The efficacy of generic meds can range +/- 20% .
Hi, I used to take Actavis 30 mg but cannot find it anywhere. I think that Rhodes is awful. The best I can get is Mallincroft, which I have been able to find fairly easily, used to take Oxycontin, but cannot afford it on medicare. I still have a lot of breakthrough pain. I have degenerative disc disease, and sciatica plus bad nerve pain. I am grateful to have a good doc, who works with me.
This is 100% true. Rhodes is terrible. Must be putting in rat poison instead of opiates.
You are awfully lucky to have a hospital prescribe you pain meds and manage them as well. That is simply not the case in most places. The DEA has come down so hard on PM and opioid prescribing in my area that I had to take 3 UA's in 3 months to prove I was taking the stuff. Never mind that I might try to get my tolerance down by taking a breather from the oxy. It only remains in my system 2-3 days regardless of the dose. That means that if my drug panel results are negative I have to bring my damn pills in to have them counted so they are sure I am not selling the stuff. I wouldn't be eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every night if I were selling my meds! Damn the DEA, the misusers, the pushers and screw ups that do not know how much their misdeads do to people that truly need the meds. Then big pharma comes in and further messes up the whole thing.
It is a war against opioids period. Why? Why not allow people in legitimate pain that have paid thousands of dollars in treatment for legit diagnoses to live with some dignity? There are so many new addendums and regulations that I have become paranoid that I am being tracked beyond my pharmacy and doctor's office. BTW, A's and M's are superior in quality at the moment.
Rhodes is awful!! I was switched to 20mg Rhodes big white pills after taking the little blue Ms. It is important that we file complaints en masse bwcause legitimate pain sufferers are beinf unjustly vuxtimized
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT RHODES! I am suffering with neuropathy and severe oa and cant get any relief from these "fake" oxys from Rhodes. I have talked to doctor and pharmacy but no one wants to do anything. Do we gave a cause of action against Rhodes ?
Hello,
It's been awhile since I have been on here, but have learned a lot in just that little of time. If you see my post a couple down, you can kind of get my story. Is what the problem is now is that the DEA has put a band on the amount of the higher controlled Meds' that a drugstore is allowed to purchase a month. And since that is where everyone is going (because the better named drugstores usually carry the better product), they are out of stock the first week they get them in... Now I have changed my PM doc three times over the period of four years to finally find one that understands *PAIN*, and I love them. Before I wouldn't go ANYWHERE besides CVS or Walgreens. Now they are always out of what I need. So the hospital I go to for PM has a little "ma & pops" type drugstore there where I fill my Meds as soon as I get them and it takes no longer than 10 minutes at any time. At first they were giving me off bran Meds that weren't working so I asked if I could get a special kind and they kindly agreed to order them. I no longer even have to say anything, they put it in the system to flag any type besides the ones I asked for. The point of all of that is, I never use places like Walmart, Rite Aid, Krogers, or any other place like that, I always stuck to CVS or Walgreens. But maybe your (or anyone else having the problem of getting non working Meds) best bet is to find a similar type of place where they will work with you and you never have to worry about them not having your medication? Idk, just my opinion. Good luck to you, I know a life in pain is no fun.
PS,
Please report back if you find any better options, I'm always curious to new, easier, or better ways.
Thanks
I have been seeing a pain management clici for about 4 months now. When they prescribed me oxycodone 15 the first three time, they worked just fine. The last time i went to walmarts to get my prescription refilled walmarts gave me some white pills that had rp 15 on one side. They were not the same thing as i had been getting before. Each time i took one it was about as effective as taking an aspirin. I called walmarts and told them that they were not the same thing as i had gotten before. The man who talked to me in very bad broken english told me that they were the same thing. He said that they buy in quantity and have no control over the meds that they buy. Now i have been taking the rp-15 for the last 27 days and i am out of them, because to get any relief from my pain i took more than was prescribed. I am going to the doctor next week and tell her what the pharmacy at walmarts told me and i am going to refer her to this site and she can look it up and verify what i am saying is true. Rhodes are leaving out something in their oxycodone, i dont know what it is, but they re screwing people out of money by selling aspirin as oxycodone.
Where do you get mallindrokt oxy 10-325, been looking and so far Osco nor Walgreens has them, and I've read cvs carries activas.
Mallinckrodt opioid generics are always superb, and the APA agrees, got git the best generic manufacturer several times. The last ten years. Their hydromorphone and oxycodone tablets are the beta generics Nhave had. Has anyone any experience with their Oxymorphone and how does it compare with the Endo Opana grand? The Teva USA tablets (oval O1 and O2) are really weak compared with Endo E612/613.
Mallie's tablets, like Teva's, are the sme colours, blue 5mg and pink/red 10mg. I trust in that company's excellent drugs though, more than any other generics. (M367 is the best hydrocodone/apap 10mg I ever took, far better than Watson 853 and NORCO - which are exactly the same tablet with a different price tag depending on the imprint!)
Rhodes and kvk both are a lot weaker than Actavis,Qualitest or Mallencroft. Things are bad.
Interesting, I begged and pleaded w/my PM doc to up my daily oxycodone dose to AT LEAST 4 30mg pills a day instead of 3 but she wouldn't budge, said she could lose her license.
I used to take 800 mcg Fentora at one point but my ins. no longer covers it which really sucks, that stuff worked great, fast acting, good pain relief. BTW, mine too was a motorcycle accident.
Thanks again.
Hello. I too am prescribed oxy 30's x 4 a day along with 100 mcg fentanyl patch every 48 hours. I'm near Atlanta and can not find these ANYWHERE (or "they are out of stock"), but fortunately the little pharmacy in the hospital I go to does carry them. They switched to Rhodes and they did nothing for my pain so I asked if they could change. So they gave me the kvk' and so far I can't tell a difference from those and the more popular ones from cvs when cvs did have them. I was well known there as I have been a cpp for four years now do to a motorcycle accident, but as staff changed so did service. I never had a problem getting my Meds then all of the sudden,"they don't have them in stock". These people abusing them really get to me! But everywhere I read they say these kvk' are junk. So far so good with me, and LOTS better than Rhodes. I would stay away from the rhodes brand at all cost imo. Hope this helps, and good luck managing your pain. I know it's a hit or miss most of the time, but I'm finally doing ok with mine.
