Strongest 30 Mg Oxycodone - Kvk Vs Mallinckrodt Vs Rhodes (Page 6)

Hi All,

I experience pretty severe neuropathic pain due to a spinal injury. I have a Baclofen pump which also contains hydromorphone but still get a lot of breakthrough pain. I've been taking oxycodone for 8ish yrs. and the pills I was prescribed those first few yrs. did a good job at treating the pain. I've had to change pharmacies and notice lately the oxycodone 30s I've been given lately do little or NOTHING! Especially the Mallinckrodt!

My doc prescribed 3 30mg pills a day but I had to munch 5 of the Mallinckrodts in a 4 hour period and still got barely any relief. I was worried I'd get constipated big time after taking that many pills several days in a row but I didn't (because they're so damn weak!) I don't know the mfg. of the oxys I was taking yrs ago but it may have been Actavis or KVK Tech. (although KVKs I was prescribed last mo. weren't much better than the Mallinckrodt).

My question is what brand do y'all think is the strongest 30mg oxycodone? My pharmacy has the KVK but I talked to another that carries Rhodes, are those any better? Thanks for any info!

I've taken oxy 15s for 20 years and I just got the Rhodes brand and I think that they're way better. I actually feel them n get relief and even get itchy which hadn't happened in 15 years. idk. I know the next time I'm going to Walmart again to get that brand.

your nuts I been on everything from fentynal to tramadol have had shatterd pelvis 3 plates left hemi pelvis bone graph plus 2 plates in left arm snapped them in half have heterotopic bone growth 2 the 5th lumbar and 2 other diagnosis in my back.I'm on 30 mg of oxycodone by malli and I find them

Zydus is the best generic. Had qualitest and kvk but I agree with others. Not as strong. Don't last as long. Qualitest 15s stopped working after 2 months. Seek out zydus. Been taking pain meds 16 years. Zydus don't diminish after time.

I know one thing I've been taking the 30 mg Roxicodone for a long time and the cambe are the worst active not much better the best I found is the kvk T they're blue with a k 9. You also have to put into play how long you been on them. And you have built a tolerance. Nothing's as good as the first script that's just the way it is I haven't tried any others. If someone knows of something that works better please let me know

Yes, I too was shorted by the same amt about a year ago. They’re supposed to count out twice. I have them count in front of me when I pick up because as we know, once we leave the it counter we’re screwed! No problem since then and I found out Pharm techs and even pharmacists short patients for themselves, altho not real common. Ask them to verify in front of you once, they’ll think twice about shorting you.

My name is Melissa and I am going thru the same situation. The BEST generic is Actavis!! But Mellenkroft sells to all pharmacy’s now and they DONT WORK I was on 4 oxycodone 30 mg Actavis and felt great!! Walgreens CVS and Rite Aid now by Mallinckrodt I had to take 11 in a 7 hr period and felt nothing, absolutely nothing!! We all need to put a petition to get Actavis back in the pharmacies!! I actually spoke to Actavis Corporate office and they told me to put a petition in place as we need to get Mellenckroft off the market!! They were so helpful and tried to help me find a pharmacy but couldn’t!! Mallinckrodt costs $30 less a bottle so we are all suffering so the pharmacies can save money and the ins co’s pay less as well, this is a travesty for people like us who are truly sick!! I have severe fibromyalgia for 5 years and led a nice life on the Actavis brand, the Mallinckrodt did nothing for me but put me into withdrawal and no pain relief!!

I take KV tech 20 mg oxycodone. Those and actavis are great. However, I have got mallenkrot in the past and they are hit and miss.

Well boys and girls. A 10 mg KVK prescribed person here that totally sucks. What have we learned? Well I have learned the government may be the exception of Actavis which is owned now by Teva and I'm not even sure of that. That all oxycodone medications suck. And here we go, KVK sucks, Mallinrcrap which used to be king now sucks. Rhodes severely sucks. Zydus sucks. Amneal sucks. Qualitest I'm still not sure of but probably sucks. I don't know much about this Endo or Watson but they probably suck. Now that I listed a lot of generics and oh yes Mallincrap owns the brand now of Roxicodone which probably also now sucks. Now why is this and here is the fun part. Oh yes, how I can not forget our abuse-deterrent Oxycontin. Your government has informed all these companies to take out almost all the opioid ingredients so they don't work. I mean if you can't see that we are all blind. And at the same time, these now useless pain meds the same government who says 80 percent of American people are hooked on opioids but do not work, they are talking probably street stuff that does work. Not the medications except what Prince got a hold of and some other celebrities who have made this problem worse because they are in the public eye and just the young people and addicts, junkies, abusers, all the wonderful ruins of pain medicine which is now all fake except what they have in hospitals. That's where the real stuff is. But only when you're a patient. Not having a buzz in front of your TV. So that's the news. Thank you and now they are making new laws where you are not allowed even a prescription where your allowed 5... Yes that's right 5 stinkin' useless pain meds for what? Meds with nothing in them. There is a correction in one of my sentences. I will rewrite it so it makes sense. Although does any of this makes sense? I noticed this was truncated and actually corrected because some of it I guess was a little over the top I said a couple of recreational statements but was trying to make a point. But is anyone going to read this?

Yes, you all are absolutely correct. The Government has told ALL opioid manufacturers to Cut "Active Ingredients" in all brands/types of All opioid type medications there is. The manufacturers have to follow these Guidelines. Of course this was not made aware to the public because if the public knew it would have caused an outrage and rightfully so...This is WRONG. Everyone who needs the medications has to go through literally hell each & every month to get the RX. (Most have been cutoff or tapered off against their will.) But to jump through all these hoops, laws, regulations etc...to even get the RX then to turn around and go to the pharmacy and be given an inferior medication anyway that has less than half the "Active ingredient" that it did 10 years ago due to Government Interference its just plain wrong & unbelievable that these meds that are needed have ALL been "Diluted" down to be ineffective garbage. People are being left to suffer "Withdrawals" and literally No pain relief. I guess the Govt. Figured it would be a "Mind over Matter" type situation.

Where if the patient "Believes" they are being given the drug that "Looks" the same they wont notice that its diluted down to be ineffective. Sure, ya..no one will notice the "Withdrawal Symptoms" or the fact that the pain is unbearable daily hour after hour with no pain relief despite taking the meds as prescribed. It doesnt matter what brand or type of drug anymore...they are all Diluted with less than half the amount of active ingredient they used to have. This is all due to Government Overreach and Opioid Hysteria that has taken over the medical community and the ENTIRE U.S.A. we live now under complete dictatorship. We now endure unethical medical care and sub-standard living. We are no longer free. Government dictates everything right down to what medications we can/cannot have. You can search all over every month for an "Effective" brand of medication but you wont find one any longer. They are now diluted, useless garbage due to this "Government Created Opioid Epidemic".People are suffering, being left in sickness & pain. They dont care. Half of the Chronic Pain Patients are committing Suicide. They turn a blind eye to it. Oh well, as long as they didnt die from an opioid related O.D. than its OK that they took their life due to suffering and uncontrolled pain. This will go down as one of the biggest failed attempts at the Government trying to control the Medical/Healthcare industry in History. One day our childrens childrens childrens children will be reading about this in their school history books.

However reading about it & living through it are 2 very different things. The world in which we are living in now days is damn scary. The Government, Politicians, Senators, Insurance companies are ALL PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT ANY MEDICAL DEGREES, KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE and its causing deaths/suicides to become rampant. This is what happens when those without Medical degrees are allowed to practice medicine and are running American Healthcare. These are law makers NOT Doctors yet they are being allowed to dictate everything surrounding our american heathcare field. People are suffering, dying, being left with sub par treatment and negligence due to being abandoned by their Doctors for fear of retaliation by D.E.A. and Federal Agents. This is no way to practice medicine. Why is this being allowed??? What happened to "We the People"??? Our Heathcare/Pharmacutical industy has been taken over by the Government and until this stops and the Government is no longer allowed to run our healthcare system people will continue to Die. The Pharmaceutical Companies are only doing what they have been told & madated to do. Make ALL opioid medications ineffective and CUT active ingredient in each med down by more than half of what it was. 10 Years ago these meds worked well for pain. They did what they were designed & made to do. Now they dont work. It is all ineffective garbage. They have cut the active ingredient in each brand/type/milligram. Dont waste your time going from pharmacy to pharmacy anymore. None have correct amount of active ingredient anymore. Govt controls it ALL.

Ok Simply I don't know what to do about this. I don't get much effect from KVK and the ER OC either. Maybe it's me. The old saying one who has been on this stuff for too long feels nothing. The ER OC only comes in Brand. So I don't know if the Brand is bad. Or my dosage is too low. But the KVK 10's just nothing non existent. So is there a generic codone that will work. I heard Actavis and not much else but I would have to find who fills them and I would have to encourage MD to move me to 15's cause the 10's come in three ways and all two other generics are worse then the KVK. Somedays I feel maybe I should just stop or take a break. Prescribed people use them everyday like a ritual. But they have lost their effects.

I filled my 10/325 oxycodone at Dallas Walmart and got stuck with Rhodes Pharmaceuticals. Wow. No effect at all!

I’m desperately searching for Mallinckrodt as they are not only effective, but I have the least side effects from other brands’ mystery fillers. Anyone in the DFW area know who has Mallinckrodt in stock? Any help is much appreciated!

I give up on oxycodone . I'm on the 10's and only have a few to choose from and was on the KVK for years today I get those Rhodes and I never read so much dislike for a medication than Rhodes there all horrible really. Amneal and really bad things about Zydus. I heard bad things about and Actavis they used to make in 10's But now there only in 15's my luck cause they're probably good. The rest like Ethex are gone Watson gone and if you look at photo charts there's nothing for 10 mg. KVK was ok. I was thinking about Amneal but forget it. I'll have to quit or look into another Pharmacy. Wegman's have been helpful. They'll try to find any brand or generic you want. This ma and pa store has been screwing me with me for a year changing one med to another and usually cheap and bad. And they just changed their hours big time. They'll probably be gone in 6 months. But they were helpful now it's just we have one distributor. What they get is all you'll get and Rhodes I KNEW was a mistake. From reading all this crap about it. I'm very upset. They do make you sick.. They filled with white crap and bigger than most.

Rhodes Pharmaceuticals (RP) was handed off to me before I noticed it. Rhodes was a giant letdown. No effect on pain and muscle cramps. That unfortunately went into the NO stack.

I just got my script filled for 6-30 mg oxycodone daily and got the Rhodes brand this time and I agree with most of you about Rhodes. The blue 30's from Mallinkrodt worked much better. Might have to switch pharmacys if they won't get the other back.

What state do you live in? I am in Connecticut and had to wean down my Oxycodone to 10 mgs TID from 130 mgs. I now use a "rice grain dose" of medical mj oil from the DCP medical mj program that is available to us. I have arachnoiditis nerve damage and I cannot take gabapentin or Lyrica due to the worst side effects ever. The oil is a bullet for ANY pain I have had. Not just nerve damage. I squeeze it into empty capsules they provide and it has NO side effects or constipation or weight gain; I actually lost over 26 pounds since using it. I know not all states have this but guess what? I lobbied for it in Connecticut. You have to do the same thing in your states IF you do not have it already. Nothing good comes knocking at your door. Now I am getting WORKERS COMP to pay for it as both are state programs (not Federal).

Rodes mite be name brand I've only been able to get generic the. Kvkt by far work better than anything else. In the beginning. I had the kvks and they were excellent I think they change the formula I recently was able to get some of the kvk and they're not anything like I remember ther not as potent

I don't mean to be a downer here but honestly us pain patients are all doomed as far as ever getting pain meds like we used to be able to get even 5 years ago. I was first on percocet 5/325 mg. by Watson starting in 2009 up until Feb. of 2014 notified by Walgreens no more Watson now Actavis. Omg, after taking only ONE pill I immediately noticed there was no effect at all. Later I was told that the Watson brand I had been taking was the best and it was taken off the market due to drug abusers/addicts. I believe in 2014 is where the beginning of the end was starting with being able to obtain any pain relief. Then in late 2014 I happened to get a script for Vicodin 10/300mg. People at first thought this was a brand name but it wasn't as I paid only 5 dollars with my insurance at Walgreens. It was made by Abbive which is a United States company out of Illinois. I never liked hydrocodone in the past they usually made me feel kinda weird and upset my stomach. Not so with Abbvie I got my life back. I was great for 4 years and never thought it would happen to me again, but it did. Now no Abbive. I cannot tell you how miserable my life is now and how it took a 180 turn for the worst. Abbvie was the best pain medication with no side effects and actually did have medicine in their product. I just can't understand that a medication that helped so many is now gone. Why? Now I am in pain every day and suffer from depression and cry a lot I mean literally have crying spells. I am now on a manufacturer called Tris hydrocodone 10/325. NOT THE SAME. So for anyone out there that says it's all in our heads and there is no difference, you couldn't be more wrong. I know this for a fact because I only take ONE medication just ONE so I know the difference immediately and there is a huge difference. Where do we go from here? I don't have the answer but what is happening is truly wrong. Also, stay away from Rhodes I have also tried them since I couldn't get abbvie.. They made me so sick. The pain meds are garbage now because there just isn't any medicine in them.

Mallinckrodt used to be the oxy generic to get as long as they're 10mg and better. Now they suck. I get KVK Tech and they're fine, it's the dosage that sucks. I only get 4 of the 15mg per day and I used to get 5 30mg per day along with 2 OC 40s per day. All the govt. is doing is driving me back to drug abuse to control my chronic pain, which I didn't do when my oxy was at the dose I got that was perfect. Being strung on heroin is a nightmare, but they're basically forcing my hand.
