Strongest 30 Mg Oxycodone - Kvk Vs Mallinckrodt Vs Rhodes (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Hi All, I experience pretty severe neuropathic pain due to a spinal injury. I have a Baclofen pump which also contains hydromorphone but still get a lot of breakthrough pain. I've been taking oxycodone for 8ish yrs. and the pills I was prescribed those first few yrs. did a good job at treating the pain. I've had to change pharmacies and notice lately the oxycodone 30s I've been given lately do little or NOTHING! Especially the Mallinckrodt! My doc prescribed 3 30mg pills a day but I had to munch 5 of the Mallinckrodts in a 4 hour period and still got barely any relief. I was worried I'd get constipated big time after taking that many pills several days in a row but I didn't (because they're so damn weak!) I don't know the mfg. of the oxys I was taking yrs ago but it may have been Actavis or KVK Tech. (although KVKs I was prescribed last mo. weren't much better than the Mallinckrodt). My question is what brand do y'all think is the strongest 30mg oxycodone? My pharmacy has the KVK but I talked to another that carries Rhodes, are those any better? Thanks for any info!

Yes, you all are absolutely correct. The Government has told ALL opioid manufacturers to Cut "Active Ingredients" in all brands/types of All opioid type medications there is. The manufacturers have to follow these Guidelines. Of course this was not made aware to the public because if the public knew it would have caused an outrage and rightfully so...This is WRONG. Everyone who needs the medications has to go through literally hell each & every month to get the RX. (Most have been cutoff or tapered off against their will.) But to jump through all these hoops, laws, regulations etc...to even get the RX then to turn around and go to the pharmacy and be given an inferior medication anyway that has less than half the "Active ingredient" that it did 10 years ago due to Government Interference its just plain wrong & unbelievable that these meds that are needed have ALL been "Diluted" down to be ineffective garbage. People are being left to suffer "Withdrawals" and literally No pain relief. I guess the Govt. Figured it would be a "Mind over Matter" type situation.

Where if the patient "Believes" they are being given the drug that "Looks" the same they wont notice that its diluted down to be ineffective. Sure, ya..no one will notice the "Withdrawal Symptoms" or the fact that the pain is unbearable daily hour after hour with no pain relief despite taking the meds as prescribed. It doesnt matter what brand or type of drug anymore...they are all Diluted with less than half the amount of active ingredient they used to have. This is all due to Government Overreach and Opioid Hysteria that has taken over the medical community and the ENTIRE U.S.A. we live now under complete dictatorship. We now endure unethical medical care and sub-standard living. We are no longer free. Government dictates everything right down to what medications we can/cannot have. You can search all over every month for an "Effective" brand of medication but you wont find one any longer. They are now diluted, useless garbage due to this "Government Created Opioid Epidemic".People are suffering, being left in sickness & pain. They dont care. Half of the Chronic Pain Patients are committing Suicide. They turn a blind eye to it. Oh well, as long as they didnt die from an opioid related O.D. than its OK that they took their life due to suffering and uncontrolled pain. This will go down as one of the biggest failed attempts at the Government trying to control the Medical/Healthcare industry in History. One day our childrens childrens childrens children will be reading about this in their school history books.

However reading about it & living through it are 2 very different things. The world in which we are living in now days is damn scary. The Government, Politicians, Senators, Insurance companies are ALL PRACTICING MEDICINE WITHOUT ANY MEDICAL DEGREES, KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE and its causing deaths/suicides to become rampant. This is what happens when those without Medical degrees are allowed to practice medicine and are running American Healthcare. These are law makers NOT Doctors yet they are being allowed to dictate everything surrounding our american heathcare field. People are suffering, dying, being left with sub par treatment and negligence due to being abandoned by their Doctors for fear of retaliation by D.E.A. and Federal Agents. This is no way to practice medicine. Why is this being allowed??? What happened to "We the People"??? Our Heathcare/Pharmacutical industy has been taken over by the Government and until this stops and the Government is no longer allowed to run our healthcare system people will continue to Die. The Pharmaceutical Companies are only doing what they have been told & madated to do. Make ALL opioid medications ineffective and CUT active ingredient in each med down by more than half of what it was. 10 Years ago these meds worked well for pain. They did what they were designed & made to do. Now they dont work. It is all ineffective garbage. They have cut the active ingredient in each brand/type/milligram. Dont waste your time going from pharmacy to pharmacy anymore. None have correct amount of active ingredient anymore. Govt controls it ALL.

I don't mean to be a downer here but honestly us pain patients are all doomed as far as ever getting pain meds like we used to be able to get even 5 years ago. I was first on percocet 5/325 mg. by Watson starting in 2009 up until Feb. of 2014 notified by Walgreens no more Watson now Actavis. Omg, after taking only ONE pill I immediately noticed there was no effect at all. Later I was told that the Watson brand I had been taking was the best and it was taken off the market due to drug abusers/addicts. I believe in 2014 is where the beginning of the end was starting with being able to obtain any pain relief. Then in late 2014 I happened to get a script for Vicodin 10/300mg. People at first thought this was a brand name but it wasn't as I paid only 5 dollars with my insurance at Walgreens. It was made by Abbive which is a United States company out of Illinois. I never liked hydrocodone in the past they usually made me feel kinda weird and upset my stomach. Not so with Abbvie I got my life back. I was great for 4 years and never thought it would happen to me again, but it did. Now no Abbive. I cannot tell you how miserable my life is now and how it took a 180 turn for the worst. Abbvie was the best pain medication with no side effects and actually did have medicine in their product. I just can't understand that a medication that helped so many is now gone. Why? Now I am in pain every day and suffer from depression and cry a lot I mean literally have crying spells. I am now on a manufacturer called Tris hydrocodone 10/325. NOT THE SAME. So for anyone out there that says it's all in our heads and there is no difference, you couldn't be more wrong. I know this for a fact because I only take ONE medication just ONE so I know the difference immediately and there is a huge difference. Where do we go from here? I don't have the answer but what is happening is truly wrong. Also, stay away from Rhodes I have also tried them since I couldn't get abbvie.. They made me so sick. The pain meds are garbage now because there just isn't any medicine in them.

Kvk seems to work best. I've never been able to buy the name brand.. I don't have that kind of cash and insurance won't cover it but I've tried all the other 30. I believe even the kvks I get now have been remanufactured. They're not like the kvk I got 3 years ago. It's a b**** I know. Nobody cares about us who suffer with pain.

The war against opioid pain is almost like the war against guns. There are people that need pain relief. The fight should be against abusers, not against pain patients. This seemed to start about 4 years ago.

I've had to take Mallinckrodt oxycodone because I can't find a better mfg in my area, however as of March 2017, Mallinckrodt has changed their 30 mg to a worthless product that has maybe 5 mg of some kind of pain killer. This is already a poorly rated pain product. I put in an adverse report to them, but they won't tell the truth about what they're doing with this medication. It's obnoxious to put people through a month of pain for whatever reason! Patients are stuck without the opportunity to get a decent brand because of the games with the DEA, who rate everyone based on their studies of addicts. We are all rated as drug addicts, so getting decent care and pain medication is severely impaired. Whatever the game with this mfg., buyer beware. This product is as valuable as otc tylenol. My pharmacist said nothing has been said to them about the change, and according to my doctor this is not ethical.

I have a crushed disc in my neck and I've had two surgeries on my right hand and I was taking the Roxicodone made by Mallinckrodt and they worked good. Then three or four months ago my medical provider switched to the Rhodes! I don't get any pain relief from the Rhodes, they suck! Now I'm trying to get my medical provider to just cover it because Medicare is covering it! So WTF?? I had to do a conference call with my provider and what I don't understand is how they could not even know how bad the Rhodes Oxycodone 30 are! They are bunk! We need to all get together and sue Rhodes for all of our pain and suffering! What do you think guys? Come on, let's put a stop to this bogus Rhodes Oxycodone!

I am having the exact same problem. I have been on 15 mg for years. They are ineffective, the ones received from Publix, it is a joke. I am begging my pain management doctor for something else, anything but oxycodone, but she will not prescribe it even though she can plainly see by all the diagnostics that I'm in pain. I was receiving my Alprazolam at Publix. They were yellow and I've never seen a yellow Xanax in my life. They totally did not work, so I had to change to a different Pharmacy to get the pink ones and I can tell the last few times I filled it, those are decreasing in effectivity. Maybe that's why Publix received so many Florida lottery winners. That would be a good way to pay them back for them helping in our oxycodone problem in the United States. I asked to be put on morphine and the doctors look at me like I've lost my mind. I am almost ready to lose my mind and when I do they will be held responsible.

I believe everyone suffering should get a law firm to take the FDA to task for pain and suffering! This needs to be taken to the supreme court, assuming there's someone intelligent and compassionate enough to clean up this mess. The FDA's philosophy is everyone is a drug addict, so they're trying to get us off drugs by diluting the working ingredients. I don't know how these lunatics got in power but everyone needs to write them and even the President. The huge dilemma is the fda are blocking pain specialists so no one can stand up for the patients. They've turned this into a straight jacket administration to try to force dr's from helping patients. The FDA is shutting down pain clinics all over America.

The best you can do is look for a dr who stands for patients and who will increase your medication. Some people find relief from inj's. in the spine at least temporarily. Oxycodone is constantly being toyed with by the FDA diluting it. You may need to try some different brands to see what works best. If you have Walgreens, I'm told their oxycodone works - Actavis brand. A family member recently had a cranial bleed and had to have brain surgery. The drs were giving him norco, which is a rotten deluded Vicodin. When he was able to talk he told them how much he was suffering. I could kick those sadistic *****s for making people suffer! It's a sick power game. The only way they'll learn is to go through pain and suffering themselves or be sued for cruelty.

Don't even think of committing suicide. Anyone can call 700 club and ask for prayer. Get a doctor who will listen.

When we fight to last several hours, we can be in a lot of pain before we can take the next pill. Taking pain meds with hot tea helps it work faster.

If ever there was a reason to picket government, the convention coming up with the FDA in Las Vegas should be picketed against the FDA's unfairness.

Rhodes absolutely do nothing, my local CVS just started PUSHING them. Check your pills BEFORE you leave the store as they won't take them back.

Regrettably the FDA keeps changing the quality of oxycodone/pain killers so brands are difficult to rely on from month to month. Mfg's are buying the opium ingredient from different countries. I heard recently it's Mexico, but it's a weaker/poorer quality so people suffering in pain get less relief. There was a story on this on CBN 700 Club recently. Actavis might still be better than others. Walgreens sells this brand. Mallinckrodt, which is weaker now is sold at Raley's. If the insurance doesn't cover a brand, you can usually pay extra to buy at a different store. KVK and Rhodes are very poorly rated. I heard Watkins was bought out so it might not be the same quality. Qualitest is supposed to be a quality product. It's a crime the FDA doesn't care about patients' pain and suffering. They omit Pain Specialists in their rulings and decision making and should be taken to task for their incompetence. They only care about their war on drug addicts. Of course that's critical, but no less so then patients trying to survive a medical crisis.

I have been on oxycodone 30mg for 14 years. I have major problems. I can tell everyone about 10 years ago Malinkroft was by far the best type of oxycodone, then they went downhill i think & i would much rather have Actavis over any other type of oxycodone- they definitely work the best for me. It really sucks they took the real oxycontin from being given to patients in the USA because you can still get them in Canada. They take one pill off the market that actually helped the majority of people in pain to remake the same pill that is tamper proof when you can still misuse the current oxycodone. The drug companies make no sense because what's the difference if people tamper with oxycodone or oxycontin besides the amount of mg per pill. I really wish i could get the original oxycontin for my pain from Canada but you have to see their doctors and im in the USA so it is to much of a pain in the butt.

Rodes mite be name brand I've only been able to get generic the. Kvkt by far work better than anything else. In the beginning. I had the kvks and they were excellent I think they change the formula I recently was able to get some of the kvk and they're not anything like I remember ther not as potent

This is 4 years later and i'm sure we wont connect but wanted to say excellent write up. Its is criminal what these politicians have gotten away with. I suffer like so many. When I had pain meds that were normal I was able to function daily, now I'm lucky if I function 2 to 3 days. My 4 and 2 yr old grandchildren will never get the grammy they could've had and it breaks my heart. You know what's infuriating though, is if one of those responsible for the hell we live got our conditions, they'd see to it they were covered with proper relief!! Honestly I don't know how much longer I can live like this but I try for the little ones, but its brutal and also so unnecessary.

It boils down to power n greed. A politician can put us on paper and seek votes, see, look here, I made Drs stop giving out pain meds and manufacturers take out most the actual med so vote for me. The whole time the b****rd knows that chronic pain patients are not the issue etc. Infuriating!!! However it doesn't seem to matter, we still suffer locked in our houses and treated like criminals when we have to jump through the hoops for " treatments" at Drs and pharmacy.

I just picked up a prescription of Oxycodone by Mallinckrodt from Walgreen's and I get another prescription filed at Walgreen's by Actavis. I have to ask that they order through these manufactures.

Hello, I'm a chironic pain suffer myself and I haven't experience that firsthand. My best advice is to look at your prescription before u leave and if you think that it is short u can ask the pharmacy to recount them.

i was in a hurry so i took my script to wal mart for my 30 mg oxy instead of walgreens like i normaly do and they gave me Rhodes and they didn't work they were like a aspirin thats how bad they were my dr gave me a 3 day script and i took them to walgreens they have different ones and what do you know theirs worked extreamly good and i got the relief i had before the Rhodes so im telling you if they try to give you the rhodes brand run dont walk to a different pharmacy

God bless you my friend as I have cancer the Med's have changed. I'm asking my doctor for medical necessity meds kvk they work perfect for me. However here in Florida they just don't give a rats behind. It's sad. The activis brand is horrible and that's all they carry here in my area. Why who knows however I'm going to fight like hell before the cancer kills me. For the original meds back. It's called quality of life and the little bit of time I have on this earth I want to enjoy. And not be dictated or told sorry about your luck that ain't happening.

JUNK, wait till you get cancer bud. Then come talk to me. They're playing with our medication, it's not right. That's the issue right there. Dumb ass dope heads flat-out and Floriduh is loaded with them. Maybe now we have a new sheriff and by God he's a good one. We can get these fools off the street for good.
