Stopping Plavix After 9 Months

I had a MI on Jan 24th of 2016 and had a DES inserted. I have been on plavix for 9 months and the side effects are destroying my life. I am still taking aspirin. But have stopped plavix. It's been 2 days. I want to use Nattokinase instead of plavix. Has anyone used this and should I use it with aspirin or stop the aspirin and just take the NATTOKINASE? I can hardly function on plavix as it makes me feel very weak causes confusion. Everything goes bad when I take it. I told my cardiologist it was making feel like I wanted to die and thought it was other scripts I was on which I no longer take. BP is perfect and diet improved. Plavix and aspirin is all I am on and when I stop taking the plavix I feel normal again. When I try to take it again out of fear of dying from clot forming on my stent the side effects hit within an hour and until it starts to wear off the next day it's like being tortured. So I am looking at taking Nattokinase as an alternative. I am 41 years old and feel I have lots of life left to live. Please help. God Bless.

If your cardiologist isn't listening to you, then it is time to seek another opinion.

While it is, of course, absolutely necessary to keep your health stable, and your condition under control, there enough other medication options that you should be able to try something else, since this one is making you miserable.

What other kinds of symptoms are you experiencing? It's been known to cause side effects, such as dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and joint/muscle aches, in addition to what you've mentioned, according to FDA reports.

I cannot speak on the Nattokinase, since I am not familiar with it, but I would strongly urge you to consult a medical professional to be safe, before switching to it.

When my Cardiologist stopped listening to me, basically just coming into the room and saying: "You're good!" I stopped going to him. My blood pressure is sometimes dangerously low, so I needed someone to pay attention, and adjust my medications.

Can your general practitioner refer you to someone else?
