Stopping Bystolic
UpdatedI had a catheter ablation for atrial flutter in April and began weaning off bystolic in May after 3 months on the medication as my HR was consistently below 60 even post-ablation. I weaned off over a 10 day period and my last pill was on May 21.
Since my last bystolic my HR has been fluctuating a lot and I just haven't felt 'normal'. My HR during the day can fluctuate between 70-100. With 2-3 hour periods some days where's resting HR is in the high 90s. For some reason in the evening (around 6pm) my HR calms down and is in the 60s and stays there until I wake up the next morning.
I also haven't felt like doing much during the day and have some lightheadedness/more labored breathing when my HR is elevated to the 80s and 90s during the day (even if just sitting on the couch). It definitely has me a little concerned cause I was more active and felt comfortable doing more activities a week after the ablation than I do now after coming off the bystolic.
I wore a 24 hr holter monitor last week and my EP didn't see any concern as I stayed in rhythm and my resting HR was not consistently over 100.
Has anyone else had similar issues after stopping bystolic? I'm only 31 and need to feel good enough to be active and work. So I'm hoping everything will begin to 'normalize' as my heart heals from the ablation and my body gets used to no bystolic.

Hello, DB! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problem you're having.
Yes, your body has been through a lot, as long as your doctor didn't see any reason to be concerned, then it's most likely just going to take some time for you to feel back to normal.
Are you on any other medications?
The FDA lists the typical side effects of Bystolic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.
