I have been of Endcot for over a year. How do I get off of these? Safely w/out withdrawals?

I haven't been able to locate information on what specific medications help with Endocet withdrawals. However I did find info regarding what one should do in the event of getting off this medication:

"After chronic use, Endocet (oxycodone + acetaminophen tablets) tablets should not be discontinued abruptly when it is thought that the patient has become physically dependent on oxycodone.

If the discontinuation of opioids is therapeutically indicated, gradual tapering of the drug over a 2-week period 'will prevent withdrawal symptoms'. The severity of the withdrawal syndrome depends primarily on the daily dosage of the opioid, the duration of therapy and medical status of the individual."

Additonal guidelines note:
The continued use of Endocet can lead to dependence, tolerance, and addiction and cessation should only be done under the care of a board-certified physician and board-certified addiction psychiatrist to avoid significant damage to the body or even death. Endocet does a significant amount of damage to the body and a physical and psychological dependence develops along with the addiction.

Users should taper off the medication slowly through a comfortable detox method. Entering a detox center for 24/7 treatment will ensure the individual rids their body of Endocet completely. This comfortable detox is used to correct the chemical imbalances in the individual suffering with an Endocet addiction and should be combined with psychological evaluations and other medical care.

Hopefully this information helps set you in the right direction.
