Stopping Effient For Emergency Colonoscopy

I have been having severe lower abdomen pain and my digestive Dr wants to do a colonoscopy ASAP, but he said he can't till my Cardiologist Dr will be willing to stop Effient and 81mg Aspirin for a few days before. My question is, is it ok to stop for a few days? I had a stent put in on Dec 1st, 2016.

While this is commonly done, before some medical test, only your cardiologist can decide if it is safe for you to do so, since there is a risk of rebound clotting, and elevated blood pressure, if you suddenly stop the Effient.

Have you consulted your cardiologist, yet?

Has your doctor done any other tests to see what is causing your pain, such as an MRI, or ultrasound?

Are you on any other medications?
