Stopping Contrave For A Week Then Restarting (Top voted first)
UpdatedI went on vacation from 3/27/16-4/2/16 and did not take my usual two doses (2 pills each dose) of contrave as I normally do. When I returned I began with 1 dose of 2 pills around 1pm on Sunday 4/3, then Monday I resumed the usual 2 doses/2 pills each. And now it's Tuesday, I have taken my morning dose and have since felt the nausea and headaches come on. Ibuprofen has not worked for the headaches, and as for the nausea, I simply am just drinking water. I have not been able to eat anything today (it's 2:48pm). These side effects feel like the 4th week when I originally started Contrave in October. I suppose I thought I could resume the normal dosage without issues. Has anyone had the same problems? Thanks in advance!

Hello, Lauren! How are you feeling? Has there been any change?
Yes, it would be normal to experience side effects, again, after taking a week off and the symptoms you've described are listed by the FDA as normal side effects for Contrave.
You may also experience dizziness, irritability and insomnia.
took contrave for one month, a year ago, and lost 18 pounds during that time. cud not eat anything but salteens. the mild nausea was the eating inhibitor. Had such a bitter, acrid taste in my mouth that I had to quit.
want to give it another chance, but wonder if it will work? at least, now I no what I'm
facing with the bitter taste.
I have been taking Contrave for 4 months now and lost 35 lbs. I'm having a hysterectomy in June . II know I will be giving narcotics for the pain , so when should I stop and start taking Contrave again?? Thank you in advance..
I am on my second week of contrave and have headaches everyday and feel nauseous now in the second week. Don't see any changes in my body and am thinking about stopping. Will there be any side effects worse than when I'm taking them I should worry about?
Does contrave stop working over time. The first few months I lost weight and cravings were gone but it’s been 5 months and the cravings are slightly coming back. What time should I be taking my pills and should I be taking them with food. Currently I take my first dose without food first thing in the morning. Second dose in late afternoon with my food.
