Stolen Prescription At Home

I went to my Dr. and got my refills of oxycodone and my diazepam and recently let my 25 yr old son move back in. It's not allowed to be filled till October 31st. Called Police who said they couldn't do anything. My Dr. couldn't write anyone, SO what do I do?

I realize you posted this back on October 22nd and I'm really sorry to hear about what happened, but it sounds like the situation between you and your son should probably be dealt with on a more personal level, considering that he's your roommate. Don't let the tension build up without disclosing your feelings to him, at least for the sake of adding some closure to what took place.

If there was any risk of undergoing serious withdrawal symptoms (god forbid), it seems to me that the emergency room would've been your best bet for receiving some form of treatment to tide you by. Hopefully in the meantime though you made sure that your son learned a valuable lesson not to steal his dad's medication. I know I would've been very upset too.

I'm torn. When I was a teen, I used to steal my mom's valium and pain pills and sleeping pills, but I'm talking to a degree she'd never notice. Now I'm 60. If I had a kid who did that, I'd kick his arse right back out the door that didn't hit him where the good Lord split him the first time.
