Starting Viibryd At 40mg For Ocd/anxiety

Greetings, I just went to my doctor today and she is switching me from Celexa 20mg to Viibryd 40mg. I notice a lot of you have stated that you titrated the medication up to 40mg. My doctor is starting me off at 40mg and now I'm worried. I understand both Celexa and Viibryd are both SSRI's and maybe that is why she is starting me off so high!? But I take my first dose in the morning.. I'm kind of worried that I should be on the starter pack. Any suggestions?

Asking your doctor about it would be the only way to get a definitive answer, however, it is most likely that they are just trying to help you do a clean switch from one to other in order to prevent any withdrawal and rebound effects.

Since you were already on one, there is a risk of such occurring if you were to stop taking it abruptly, or switch to a new one at a lower dosage.
