Starting Sintrom

My husband is starting sintrom as he has had a very small stroke. We did not know, only noticed by numb lips. What can we expect as far as side effects are concerned and how often are blood tests done? He also has quite a slow pulse and arrhythmia. Is there a specific diet...can you eat foods with vitamin k in them?
