Sprintec Bc
UpdatedI started sprintec a week ago, I've never taken bc before. I took the first blue pill in the pack before I got my period, my doc said to take the Sunday after my period but I didn't wait, I started taking it when I bought them, now im late and I just had a single spot of blood in my undies. Is this normal for a person to miss a period and when do I take the white pills? Do I have to stop the blue ones and take the white ones inorder to have a period?

I will explain a few things, so hopefully this will clear up your questions for you.
The reason your doctor tells you to start them the first day of your period is so that you will be immediately protected against pregnancy. If you start at any other time, you must take the pills daily, for at least 7 days, to be protected. However, if you start on the first day of your period, it prevents your next ovulation cycle from occurring.
If you start at any other time and do not use extra protection for the first 7 days, then there is a chance you may get pregnant during that time period.
And yes, it can be normal to have some spotting, or breakthrough bleeding when you are new to taking them, because they do contain hormones and it takes your body awhile to adjust.
And the way it normally works is there are 21 days of the active (blue) pills and then 7 days of the inactive (white) pills, if those are the colors in your pill pack. You should take them all, in order, so you take one tablet every day, so the blue pills are taken continuously for 21 days, then on the 22nd day, you'd start with the white tablets. Within a day or two of starting these inactive tablets, you should experience your menstrual cycle.

Is there anything else I can help with?
When I got the pills my doctor told me to take them that day, which was not the first day of my period. I did not have intercourse during that week and I have not missed a single pill. I am now a few days into the white pills and I haven't had my period yet. Is this normal? and will I get it normally next month?
