Sprintec And Being On My Period

I got on the shot in February and my birthday was the 25th of February. Maybe a day or 2 later I started my period and it lasted for about 4 months and some change. I notified my OB and she put me on hormone pills but my period still continued so she put me on sprintec. I'm on week 3 so I'm still getting use to taking them on time but so far I've only experienced cramping ... My question is , I only want to take the sprintec for one month cause I'm gay so when I get to the white pills and my period starts , will it then go back to my regular periods? I don't want to be on it for another 4 months
