Spotting On Sprintec
UpdatedHello My physcian put me on Sprintec to avoid a period for vacation. I started it lateJuly. I skipped the placebo. August 31 I started spotting and I am now on my vacation and on my 7th day of spotting. My Dr advised doubling up on the pill. What if I just stop it completely? I have marathon in 5 days and do NOT want to be bleeding.

If you stop it completely, you will most likely start a full period, since it is a withdrawal of the hormones that induces your period.
Spotting is normal, when taking oral contraceptives. It can occur for the first 3 months, or so, while your body is getting used to them. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms and weight gain.
It would be best to follow your doctor's instructions.
Is there anything else I can help with?
