Spotting Before And After Plan B
UpdatedHi there! This is my first experience using Plan B and, let me tell you it's a doozy. I'm a mom of three currently still breastfeeding my youngest. I got my period back last month around the 25th and it lasted about 5 days. About two days later (apx. Day 7 of menstrual cycle) my husband and I had unprotected sex and did not use emergency contraception. A week later on the 9th (or day 14), we had sex again. Because of the timing in my cycle, and the age of our youngest, we panicked and purchased Plan B. The same morning BEFORE taking the pill, I had spotting (presumably either implantation bleeding from first sexual encounter or vaginal bleeding from the most recent sex). I took Plan B for the recent encounter but still felt I could be pregnant from the first time. It is now 4 days after taking the pill and I am spotting again. We did not have intercourse again so I am thinking it is the effect of taking Plan B. I'm so confused. I was just coming to terms with being pregnant again and now I have been thrown a curveball. It has been appx. 12 days since the first sexual encounter and 4 days since the first spotting. Is that too soon to take an at home pregnancy test? I plan to visit an OBGYN in the near future to either receive pregnancy care or discuss my abnormal bleeding and birth control options. I just would like another perspective.
