South Florida Vicodin/pain Meds Cant Find A Decent Doctor?!
UpdatedSo I recently moved here to South Florida (Cutler Bay to be exact) from Nevada and I have been taking 60 10 mg Vicodin a month for 7 years with no need for increase for pain from endometriosis. I brought my records and prescription bottles with me when I moved thinking I would have no problems transferring to a new long term Dr. who could fill my scripts. NO SUCH LUCK. Every Dr. I have gone to tries to fill me bogus Tramadol and tells me that there is no reason I should be taking Vicodin. They are making me feel like a drug seeker and absolutely refuse to give me my script. Does anyone know of a primary care or gynecologist South of Miami that is comfortable giving a legitimate pain prescription to someone in legitimate pain?! I'm beyond frustrated. It took me a long time to find the exact amount/type of medication that worked for me, I have already tried Tramadol/natural pain therapy/blah blah. I need someone to prescribe me what I have been on for all these years. I have never had to be seen at a pain management since I dont think what I was prescribed is that strong and I highly doubt any Dr. will refer me to a pain specialist since I cant even get them to prescribe me 5 mg vicodin. Any help will be appreciated!! I'm desperate!!

I am very sorry about the problem that you're having.
However, if you need such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, due to the regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist.
Thus, the best thing to do would be to set yourself up with a new GP and ask them to refer you to someone.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
The drs want to start you out with what they are comfortable with. You will have to take the meds the dr gives you in the beginning or you won't be able to find any dr who will rx another med. A dr may or may not give you a specific meds after the beginning. Asking for a specific is a Red Flag.
PLEASE help. I'm a 40 year old woman with fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, chronic migraines, and pcos. I have tried everything for pain and nothing worked. I was going to pain management where I was on morphine and oxycodone 15mg, but that Dr retired. Now I cannot find ANYONE to prescribe me what I need to live a normal active life. I live in central Florida. Can anyone recommend a pain management doctor that believes in fibromyalgia and will prescribe oxycodone for me? Please, I'm very desperate and in HORRID pain.
