If you are such a large pharmaceutical company, how could it be possible that no pharmacy, in all of Tulare County, Ca. has any Carisoprodol, 350 mg, which is a Qualitest generic for Soma, in stock whatsoever? Their same reply to me continues to be, "They're on back order & we don't know when we'll get them in." I have been taking Soma only when needed since the 80's & have now been without them for well over a month!! When I am having one of my excruciating muscle spasms, these have always been the only pills that work but since being without them I am left to my last resort of taking pain pills which are not meant to relax muscles, so I have to take a double dose, which knocks me out & is the only way to stop the spasms without my usual Soma! my doctor moved out of state and I'm having a very hard time finding a doctor willing to prescribe Soma. If you can help please let me know ## Try another Doctor? ## I have! They said they or their practice no longer will prescribe them. ## Many drs no longer rx Soma due to the high rate of abuse. Asking a dr to rx a drug like Soma is a way to not get it. ## While it is highly abused its still just a schedule 4 medicine. does tazloc 80 result in a dry cough ## I have been taking taz loc ct 80 n nabistar sa for 2 yrs. before taking tablets bp was 140/90, now it 120/85 but since from the day i have started this medicine i have some sert acne in the head just I want to know is the side effect of the tab or not? I found a round, green pill with the letter F on one side of the pill and no imprint on the other side of the pill. It's probably about the color of a lime and about the size of a soma (Carisiprodol). I can't figure out what this pill is and went to pill I.D., but they had no results which matched that criteria. I have severe back n muscle spasms through my body due to severe car wrecks breaking horses n two very abusive relationships. I have been on three other meds that did not help n because of dumb a**es who just want a high n our so called government I'm almost bed ridden cause all the new bull s*** rules. I say if they want to kill themselves with pills let them but don't make those of us who take our meds right pay. its not fair. besides isn't that what they want, all the dumb people out of the way... I went to the VA hospital on Jefferson in Jacksonville, FL and they said they dont have soma or oxy for me something I have been taken for 15 years in VA California! The just say "no it is not in our formulary" so I ask if they would script it out to CVS that does have it and they say they cant do that either! So I a without a job or resorces because i need the soma to work everyday and oxy only maybe once a week or two. I only take 2 somas a day...and then nothing else! Some pharmacy will not give the watson brand soma or norco if you using insurance can something be done and do target carry name brand. ## No, you get what that pharmacy gets. You can request the Brand name drug and expect to pay up to 100 X more if that is what you are asking, yet insurance wont cover it. Also the pharmacy and the prescriber will catch on that you have vast knowledge of different brands and most likely not do business with you, or cut you off. You are playing with fire. If you have the time, open the phone book and call all the Pharmacies in a 100 mile radius and perhaps you will find the brand you seek!

I have been taking soma and Norco for a many years for a c5, c6, fusion with a metal plate and screws. is Soma considered an opioid? ## No. It isn't related in any way to opioids. It is related to an ancient tranquilliser called meprobamate which was widely used in the 1950s but hardly at all since benzodiazepines hit the market. Another name for carisoprodol is ISOMEPROBAMATE. An amount of your Soma/Carisoma is metabolised by the liver into meprobamate so as well as being a superb muscle relaxant it does have a slight tranquillising effect. Barely noticeable though it does tend to potentiate the triazolo-benzos like alprazolam. I wonder where the notion that it was an opioid came from? I am a doctor practicing as a psychiatrist for many years. I have been giving this medicine to many of my patients. It does not have any side effects. 90year old female in relative good health. Takes no medication other than 5mg. Norvasc daily. What strength Soma would be safe for occasional use for back spasms? ## Its hard to say. The elderly are much more prone to experiencing side effects and to experience them more intensely, so it could cause a lot of dizziness, drowsiness, nausea and sedation. I'm a text book described person who should have no problem getting a Rx from my PCP yet he refuses adamantly to prescribe. He says they are addictive yet yrs ago when I did have a script, I had no feeling of addiction only relief from cramps and pain from a serious MVA where an 'L' shaped plate with 8 attachment screws were permanently placed in my right heel/ankle. Trying to find an actual pic of plain large white capsule that's suppose to be soma... I can't fi d one.....its suppose to be 350mg......help ## Pretty sure Carisoma is made outside the U.S.? Just Google Soma and then click on Images! ## @liberate, Are there any markings on your pill that help identify it by substance, dosage, and manufacturer? If it doesn't have an imprint it could literally be anything from A-Z. From my own research, the only carisoma pills I found on google images are either round orange tablets that are blank with a score line or are white round tablets with the word "WALLACE" embedded on one side and a score line on the other. I have yet to see any capsule-shaped carisoma pills. This is generally why I don't trust ordering pills from oversea...

Soma is now a Schedule II in Louisiana. Some in combinations with Codeine Schedule III. I have a old prescription of Soma that I am not supposed to be taking now because I am on different pain and muscle relaxer meds at my pain management doctor. I had to take three or four of them about 24-25 days ago because I was hurting so bad. Will it show up on my urine screen when I am tested tomorrow? The lab at my Doctor tests for everything and wanted to make sure enough time has passed. ## The Lab allowed you extra time, what a cool place. I have started a new job where i have to be giving drug test. One drug i have heard about is Soma. I am not familiar with it and am trying to gather as much info as i can. What is the longest it can be in system? If taken on a Friday will it be there on Monday morning. Ca. Or if mixed with paimedsnmeds, (oxy, percocetet, loratab ect..) Is there something I can buy on the shelf that would be similar as soma, say if I took several Milligrams? ## No there is no natural Soma out there. Also taking 'several' mgs of a supplement is not always a good thing! ## @Chip, Based on several reviews I found, Baclofen is touted as being one of the closest 'prescription' medications to Soma of all the muscle relaxers out there. Unfortunately I can't speak from personal experience since I haven't tried it before, but that may be something you'd want to talk with your doctor about taking as an alternative to Soma. How are you? I have to agree with Eddy, though. Soma is a muscle relaxant, so it's not going to help with the type of pain you're experiencing. You'll need some type of actual analgesic for that.
