Smz Tmp Sus 200 40 5 Side Effects

my 2 year old has been taking 1tsp twice daily for the past 3 days for a nonvenomous spider bite and suddenly today she developed a red flat rash on her arms and legs that is warm to touch.

From what I could gather, it sounds to me like your child may be experiencing either a severe side effect or an allergic reaction to the medication. The side effect profile for this drug mentions that you should contact your doctor immediately if you have a serious side effect such as:

"the first sign of any skin rash, no matter how mild; or
severe skin reaction -- fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain, followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling."
