Small, Round, Orange Pill "op" On One Side "40" On Other Side

I found several small, round, orange pills in the cabinet under my sink today. The letters "OP" are printed on one side, and the number "40" is printed on the other side. A friend said they were a generic oxycontin pill that was time released. Is this accurate? What is the proper dosage for this medication? Thank you for your help.

This is not a generic, since there isn't a generic for Oxycontin, this is the name brand and they are 40mg tablets, the ones with the OP marking are the new formulation that has been made to help prevent abuse.

Oxycodone is a narcotic pain reliever.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.

Dave, that is also a 40mg Oxycontin tablet, that is the marking Purdue uses on the ones they manufacture and sell in Canada.

They all have the numbers on them to designate the dosage and use the CDN marking on the opposite side.

Thank u for providing the information requested. Receiving the answer of the found small round orange pill satiated my necessary concern. OP on one side. 40 on the other side as oxycodone. What is the difference between oxyconton? Also what doses are prescribed.

So the Op on one side and 40 on the other, Google Says yellow, but they look peach to me and are supposed to be time released, but it's worn off my bottle (accidentally got wet). How do you tell if they're time released?
