The question here is what is the strength and how often a day are you taking Oxycodone? I am not a physician but I am in the medical field and do deal with medication on a daily basic. My advise is to talk with you physician regarding this. There is a possibility having taken this drug for 18 months, that you may experience some withdrawl. The other thing is if you are truly in severe pain (because this is the only reason you should be taking this medication). Then you probably still need it. However this drug is highly additive, and often times there are alternative medication on the market that can work just as well. But please don't stop taking this without consulting your physician first. Good luck and may god bless you.

As to what Felineluvr said..I am now concerned because my husband who has COPD and 4th stageNSCLC has been prescribed oxycodone, morphine and lorezapam as treatment for comfort medications through hospice. He has no pain!!!!!! Also he uses Albuterol in a nebulizer. It has been know not to give oxycodone to persons with respiratory problems. Could it be used to relax muscles in the lung so that he may breathe better? Sure wish there was something natural that he could be taking other than these high powered drugs...Explain to me more please....

Oxycodone is very addicting no matter what the dose if you've been taking it for 18 months yu will have withdrawals. Furthermore, oxycodone slows the breathing down, so I think its weird they would give that to him.
