Skipped Placebo Pills

UGH I should have NEVER skipped the pills and started a new pack. Yes, it delayed bleeding for about 3 days for my anniversary but this isn't worth it. I've been now bleeding for 2 weeks straight. Mostly spotting the last few days but heavy at the time I take the pill each day. I'm almost at the end of the 3rd week and want to know... should I just take the sugar pills and continue bleeding and then everything will go back to the way it was? Or should I skip them again and start a new pack? I don't want to bleed anymore. It's making me so moody and I'm breaking out and crying. I've been on this for 2 years and never had an issue until trying to skip my period. I think it's time to get a monophasic. HELP.

Hello, Kate! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're so miserable.

It will likely take awhile for things to balance back out and return to normal. However, the moodiness you're experiencing is rather extreme and you should have that checked into. You may need to switch to a different oral contraceptive.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including, nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms.

Is there anything else I can help with?
