My sister was taking Nucynta and Prednisone for her Rheumatoid Arthritis and it weakened her immune system. She had only been taking these 2 medications about a year. One day she got strep and it killed her. Within a couple of days of feeling sick, she was rushed the ER and passed away. She died of septic shock. I blame the drugs.

Hello, Diana! How are you doing? I am so very sorry for your loss.
Prednisone is a steroid class medication that can cause suppression of the immune system, so yes, it could have contributed to the problem. It can also headache, fluid retention and weight gain.
However, not being a doctor, I can't say with certainty that it did.
Have they attributed her death to anything? What do they say was the cause?
