My husband just started on Depakote they upped him to 2000mg a day all in one dosage at bed time. He is having many problems with siezures wanting to start. He sees the light effect,feels dizzy, and is having headaches along with some vision problems. Is this normal when starting on Depakote. He has had his blood tested and they upped it to 2000 mg. recently.He had three episodes today. What do we do?

It sounds like he may be suffering from both normal and unusual side effects, he really needs to talk to his doctor and explain them all, they may need to lower his dosage or try a different medication.
