i have hypothyroidism and i take thyronorm 50mcg.my height is short my t4 and t5 is abnormal .also i am under weight?????so will thyronorm affect ma growth and weight????????please reply..it will be ur most kindness

I hv hypothyroidism. I hv reduced my dose from 75mg to 25mg. Now I'm taking 150mg. How it will effect. What would b the side effects.

I have TSH level of 3.46 before 01 month. I am taking Thyronorm 50mcg every night after meal.Now I have some problems: My face has white spots and black spots and I consulted a doctor and he said it is the side effects of medicine you taking.My face become too much dryalso. The doctor suggested me to use special face cream and body eash and for using in night one cream for applying to removing the black & white spot. Now I am mentally very much tensioned. Please give me the details of this disease. How it happening? I have weight gain also. My belly is too much big. I am taking this medicine since 2011.

Mcg means microgram which is much smaller than mg that is miligram..

It's better to follow Ayurvedic treatment....... no use taking thyronorm....... it affects a person's daily life... can't lead a normal n happy life taking such medicines.

My wife has thyroid since last 3 years and her TSH were 1.09 in 1/2014, 1.06 in 6/2014 and 4.3 in 10/2014.All along she has been advised to take 50 mcg empty stomach in the morning. During last 2 months, the dose of medicine has been stopped once in a week (on sunday) as per Doctor advice.Since last two month, rash appears on her hand and neck and they are itching. Please advise.

Amina, as I said, weight gain is a normal side effect, it can happen because of your Thyroid condition, as well as from the medication itself.

Have you spoken to your doctor about it?

The same applies to the weakness you are feeling. It could be cause by both and if it is a problem you should speak to your doctor.


As to when to take the medication, what has your pharmacist advised?

I am 60 years old. i have hypothyroid since i was 30. i have been taking thyronorm100 or 75 as per the doctor's prescription. i have gained weight despite doing yoga for one hour every day. my cholesterol level is high, so i am taking rusovas10. Is there any problem in continuing both d medicines?

As reddy and reddy this are no the side effects of thyronorm it is the symptom of u having hypothyroid if even aftr taking thyronorm 50 mcg then I think so tht u shud take suggestions frm ur doctor and iam sure he or she will increase ur tab power
