My cycle started and it's been 6 days. Tomorrow I will start the sugar pills, can I skip that and start a new pack? Will that stop my cycle? I didn't want to take the sugar pills, I thought that would keep my cycle longer? I have been on for 3 months and this is my first cycle. It skipped 2 periods. What should I do! Please help!!!

It can be normal to experience irregular cycles for the first 3 months, or so, of taking an oral contraceptive, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, mood changes, headache, and weight changes.

Skipping the period week could also cause more irregularities, according to NIH studies. The best thing to do would be to take them, as prescribed, and allow your cycles to occur, as they should, for several months.

How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
