Yes, these statin medications for lowering cholesterol are well known to cause all kinds of odd side effects, sometimes so severe that someone has to stop taking them.

Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, headache and joint/muscle aches.

Is the patient on any other medications? There are many that can cause those types of issues.
