Side Effects Of Clavicef

Hi....For the last 2 days I am suffering from loose motions and fever. The doctor that I went to today prescribed Clavicef. Frankly I am scared about this drug. Because in the past I have seen that any medication / antibiotics prescribed for stomach upsets usually worsen my condition and I end up being hospitalized. I am not sure whether I should start this course or not. I did mention my fear to the doctor but was told to try this medicine and let him know if the condition worsens. And that is not a good enough assurance.

Clavicef contains the active ingredient Cefixime, it is an antibiotic and it, as well as all medications, always carries the risk of side effects.

These side effects can include: nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and skin rash, however, they should only last for a few days past your completion of your course of the medication.

What were you hospitalized for, in relation to the medication?

If it was dehydration from worsening diarrhea, then the most important thing you can do is make sure to increase your fluid intake to prevent this from happening.
