Am taking thyronom from last 6 yrs now am 20.it started with 50 dosage now from some years it's 100mg
Am feeling always dull.. at times hyper.. sometimes.. depressed is this drug has anything to do with these prob...
Wat are the general side effect of this drug?

Hi my tsh is 2.33 which has come down drastically..... but my endocrinologist advised me to take 150 mcg ......is it Oki to take that dose or should I stay with 100....????as I'm feeling tired even with 100mcg

My free T4 level is 0.54 ng/dl, normal range is 0.8-2.0 ng/dl. Serum ultra sensitive TSH is >100 uIU/ml, normal range is 0.4-5.0.
I am taking 100mcg Thyronorm OD from about a week.
There is swelling on my face. I feel dryness of mouth, irritation in throat, & headache.
Please tell me, what to do for above problems, & are these problems due to Thyronorm?

Hi i Have Hypo Thyroid, since from 1 year am keep on gaining my weight.. every time i consult the Dr. he increase the dosage of it from 25 mcg to 100 mcg and Sat & Sun he made 200 mcg.
Some one said me if i take high dose i will reduce my weight, so am taking 200mcg everyday. I also have huge pain and swelling in my both foots. Even i take pain killer if it unbearable since frm 4 years.

Kindly suggest am i doing right.. !

hi m 22 yr.. and i m hypothyriod from last 5 months..m taking thyronorm 100mg..bt nw from last 2 months m having severe constipation...my ques is it bcoz my high dose?? As TSH level came to normal i.e. 0.98 in jst one month.

i am vignesh having hypothyroid after receiving radioactive iodine. now my free t3 is normal and free t4 is 0.46(low)and my tsh is 216(high).now my doctor advised me to take thyronorm 100 and 150 alternative days regularly and told me come after two months.is this correct dose for me right now?i need the answer as soon as possible.pls.

hello...I am 28 year old female. I have been diagnosed of PCOD 10 years ago..but untreated.

I have been diagnosed of LOW TSH levels a month ago and my T3 T4 remains within limit.

My GP has prescribed THYROXINE SODIUM 50mcg twice daily.
is it a right treatment for hyperthyroidism? am worried

Sarita, you should really consult his doctor to figure out what's causing it.

It could be due to the hypothyroid condition itself, a medication side effect, or it might be too high of a dosage of the medication for him.

With several possibilities, only his doctor is going to be able to help you figure it out and find a solution.

My 12 year old son was was very short for his age and after multiple tests last year,he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. They put him on 50 mcg of thyronorm. A few months later his TSH levels and his height improved significantly.

However, the doctor increased the dosage to 100 msg. He now eats a lot but seems to be tired all the time. His grades in school have fallen and he somehow "feels" like a different person to me. Disinterested and worse, depressed.

Can this be because of the thyronorm? He is now nearly 14

Thanks for the quick reply. I still have the usual thyroid symptoms - lethargy, lack of energy, body pain, fuzzy mind, poor concentration, short term memory loss, bloating even after the regular medication. Value 2.37 - Units uIU/ml - normal range is 0.30 - 5.5. Should I increase or decrease the dose of 100.

Jess, they both contain the same active ingredient, which is Levothyroxine, so neither one would really be better than the other.

As to the dosage, that can vary, depending on your levels and how well your body responds to the medication, so your doctor should be monitoring you and making adjustments, if needed.

Saneef, have you consulted your doctor? It's difficult for anyone to say what's causing your problem, from just a short post online. It could be the medication or it may be completely unrelated.

I am suffering for the last 30 years from Hypothyroid and but have started regularly taking the medication Thyroxin 100 for the last 5 years only .I am taking Thyronorm 100 and my TSH is 3.5 Am I taking the right dosage? And which is the preferred drug. Thyroxin or Thyronorm.

Thyronorm contains the active ingredient Levothyroxine.

What type of pain?

Joint pain can be a sign of either an allergic reaction or a sign that you are on too high of a dosage.

You really should contact your doctor about this, immediately.
