My moms hands and body keeps on shaking and she is under treatment since few years and she is taking syndopa plus which is making her able to move and do household work but the moment the effect of syndopa plus gets over she is a lifeless body, however the doctors have advised her not to take it anymore but we do not know which substitute medicine to use in place of syndopa plus as the substitute medicine given by the doc is not giving her relief please suggest a medicine which makes her walk and move the way syndopa plus does and which should not have side effects as her legs and neck keeps on paining

My mother is 80 yrs. old and has had Parkinson's for the past 30 yrs. She was taking syndopa for many years and now takes syndopa plus. Side effects may differ with patients. Her teeth became brittle and dentures came in very early, hair thinning, urine and sweat were dark colored, etc. These symptoms were all occurring many years ago. Now she has in addition to the above: Hallucinations, loss of memory, extreme stiffness and extreme dyskinesia in cycles as she has to take syndopa (half a tablet) every two hours...but i dont give her more than six doses. Her last dose is taken by seven pm. It helps. For early stages, I would highly recommend exercises such as yoga very regularly. Also exercises for the mouth and tongue, as later on one's speech is also affected. If you believe in it, then also try energy healing...it is effective along with the medication. All caregivers need to take care of themselves too and join a support group.

Syndopa Plus contains the active ingredients Carbidopa + Levodopa.

The most common adverse reactions reported with Carbidopa + Levodopa have included dyskinesias, such as choreiform, dystonic, and other involuntary movements and nausea.

So yes, it may be contributing to the problem.

Has he talked to his doctor? His dosage may need to be adjusted.

The doctor advised my wife to take syndopa plus tablets, but didn't provide any information on possible side effects. Can anyone please let me know how your experience turned out? Thanks.

My mother has Parkinson's and she has been advised 4 tablets of Syndopa Plus a day by her doctor. Earlier she used to take 3 tabs daily and now the same has been increased to 4 per day. Are there any side effects of this tablet and what is impact if someone has been taking it for more than year? She has just recently started experiencing her whole body shaking for some time during the day (post-lunch and after taking this tablet).
