Side Affects Of Amlod Benaz

I just started taking this med. about four days ago. I have been experiencing extreme diarrhea and stomach cramps. Is this one of the side effects? does the dosage need to be changed? or is another hypertension medicine recommended? Thanks in advance for your help.

Dee, it sounds like you are experiencing side effects from the Amlodipine (muscle / stomach / headache are listed as possible adverse effects). Often, anti-hypertensive medications act as diuretics as a way of reducing blood pressure (hence your body expelling more water than usual). Your potassium levels may also become elevated.

I recommend reporting this to your doctor since they may in fact need to change your dosage or switch your medication (based on what they know of your medical history). Hope this helps!
