Hi Jeffrey - Technically speaking those two pills should contain the same dosage of Morphine (the active ingredient). While I don't have a picture to show you, the 30mg MS Contin Extended release should be round a purple with either the marking "M 30" or "PF M30" depending on which company labeled the prescription.
As far as switching from 15 mg ER to immediate release, yes, there is a difference in that the immediate release should take effect more quickly but not last as long. Are you saying that your insurance will or will not pay for them if they are different?
