My husbands dr recently dismissed him as a patient because he tested negative for hydromorophone. He has been taking hydrocodone 10 for a year now. Should he not have tested negative for hydromorophone? He isn't prescribed that.

Hydrocodone is metabolized into hydromorphone in the liver. Codeine is turned into .morphine also.
