There is really no preference listed for this medication, so you can take it whichever way is better for you. Most antibiotics can be effected by some products, such as dairy foods, which may alter the amount of them that can be absorbed, so you may want to try it on an empty stomach to see if that works for you.
However, if it causes any type of nausea, then you should take it with food, to help prevent that.
