Severe Knee Pain Tried Everything And No Doc Will Prescribe Me Pain Pills But Their The Only Thing That Has Worked

I have had two surgeries on my knee. The last surgery had left me with nerve pain in my knee that runs up and down my leg. I have gone to too many doctors to count and have tried everything they have prescribed for me (from stretching to acupuncture to taking Gabapentin and thing like it) but nothing helps except 10mg oxycodone. The pain is horrible and sometimes the pain will last for weeks. I can't concentrate in school or even sleep. The only thing that has helped is the oxycodone but I'm 24 years old and no doctor want to prescribe it to me because they think I'm to young. Does anyone know if a doctor in San bernardino area that will help me?? Being in severe pain and not sleeping for days at a time is making me go crazy!

Nerve pain is treated really well with Lyrica. Oxy is for a different kind of pain. So if you can take Lyrica or the genetic it is great! I loved it but had major side effects...bummer! They would much rather give you nerve pain meds! The only issue about age is that they are afraid that if you build up a tolerance, when you are old & dealing with much more painful & complex issues they won't be able to control it. No one wants to die in pain.

LYRICA .....helps some but isn't for everyone who has pain. the side affects were way too heavy on my side and my body had a lot of them taking lyrica. it was holding my down swelling my legs, feet, and ankles to the point that I could wear shoes or barely walk. my legs and knees ached so much I was needing and wanting something more stronger to deal with all the discomfort my body was in. I swelled up like a beach whale and couldn't walk or hardly get around but I managed to keep working somehow and just took myself off it. going to see my dr for my regular checkup to let him in on the latest, maybe I will get back to being almost my old self soon!!! good luck to those using lyrica.....if it works for you!
