Severe Itching Sensation

I am taking Lisinopril-hydrochlorothiazide 10-12.5. I have been taking it for about 1 yr now. Over the last few month, when I get heated and sweat, I get a severe itching sensation over my entire body. Almost unbearable, but it subsides when I cool down. Could this be a side effect of this medication.

Yes, there is a possibility that it is from the medication.

Medications such as this, which are commonly used to help treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions, work by having an effect on your circulatory system. Thus, it is very common to see side effect warnings about developing cold extremities, even in normal temperatures and etc.

What you may be experiencing could be the opposite effect, when you get warm, more blood is rushing towards the surface of your skin and creating the itch.

I've experienced both, with various medications that I've tried and it took almost a year to find some that I can take, without having them cause many severe problems.

You can learn more Zestoretic details here.

Have you talked to your doctor about it?

They should be able to determine if it is from the medication and, if so, what the proper action may be to resolve the situation.
