Severe Stomach Pain While Weaning Off Oxycontin?

I've been prescribed OxyContin and Roxycodone for 5 years now due to bilateral bone deformities as well as having no cartiledge in both feet. The medicine has been a blessing. About 6 weeks back, I wasn't feeling well, and was taking only half the amount of medicine rx'ed for about 5 days because I'd had at couple of days of severe upper stomach pain along with vomiting. After a few days it calmed down and went away. The 3rd and final bout though, was much more severe, the same stomach agony and this time, more intense projectile vomiting. It was so bad I couldn't sleep or move. My question is, can this be related? Could this be yet another symptom of withdrawal? I've never experienced pain like this but I did run out of my pain meds once, 4 yrs. ago- not realizing just how sick I'd get (oh my God, was I sick), and even then, probably the one ailment I didn't have was extreme upper pain in my stomach. Does anyone know what this could be? There were no GI issues, no headache, no fever, no muscle aches. I do not drink alcohol- ever, and have never taken any illegal drugs. I am in my late 40's.

Actually, I'm curious about whether or not you may have developed gastritis, due to taking it for so long. Most medications carry the risk of causing it.

There is a chance it was due to mild withdrawals, but not very likely.

Have you consulted your doctor? Have you tried any antacids or anything, when it happens?

This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation.
